Hey guys,

Trying to find an old thread I read on here ages ago, but I can't find it. My clutch pedal squeeks so badly, and it's annoying me. You can hear it from the inside and outside of the car. So I don't thinkkkk its the pedel itself.

Apparently its a common problem with the DC2s. The other thread I was talking about said that you need to lube/oil up something... but what was it?

Can anyone help?

Cheers.

you need spray grease
theres like a square rubber grommet at the front of the gear box with a slit in it... just put the straw attachment on and spray into that... just 1 or 2 squirts max should do it

the squeek is from lack of lube on the release bearing and or pressure plate - when cold usually makes this SQUEEK noise. Either spray as suggested , or replace the bearing with a new one and a new layer of grease dabbed in the proper places.

Sweet thanks Benny! So where exactly do I spray, and what is the best product to use?

you remove the clutch slave cylinder (2 x 12mm headed bolts) , remove 2 x 10mm headed bolts on the clutch hardline bracket further back , pull back the slave cyl. carefully as to not damage the piston or the rubber boot.
Now you can pull off the rubber grommet , aim some grease (correct me which type...) into the gap and around and on the release fork - where it makes contact to the release bearing.

dont forget while the slave cylinder is off , peel back the rubberboot carefully and clean the piston. Apply some high temp general purpose grease in and around the piston too, then slide the boot back on.Should sit fine dont over fill the small boot

That little rubber gromit comes off quite easily... So just pel that back and spray in there! Sounds easy enough... but how the eff do you get a can of spray stuff down there. haha.

Also what was Ben talking about... seems like you guys are saying different things.

So should I spray the stuff into that little hole where the rubber grommit is? y/n?

Also, thanks for the help with the nooooby question guys!

Just want to make sure you understand
You take off the square thing, not the rubber gromit.
I think that when you say rubber gromit, your reffering to the thing i've crossed out.

If not, your all good.
