hey everyone
i went and talked to charlie at good performance today to talk about my D16a conversion...when i told him i wanted my rings replaced, he asked me if i was interested in these oversized pistons...

the thing is, they are a jap no-name brand and go for about $US125 for the set plus $40 shipping.

now this seems too cheap and when i asked him why he told me that it was because no-one wants to do D-series conversions...they all want the B-series...

he also tells me that he has bought a seperate pair to go on a soon-to-be D-series turbo

now my question is:

is this too cheap, even if this jap company wants to get rid of them? because good ones are like $800 for the set :P

hmm...also is it worth getting forged pistons for my D16a8 or should i just go for the ring set and be happy with that.

thanks :D

If you are getting the rings done......might as well get forgies IMO (especially if you are going to keep the car for awhile and do mods later) If not......then save your money.

But remember not all forgies are fun. Depending on the silicon content of this pistons, they maybe noisy when cold and use up some oil.

d-series parts are cheap. get eh brand name of the pistons if u want a specific answer. As for oversized, well they are ok, but will weaken the sleeves a bit (due to the boreing). As for if u should get it it, i rekon u should so something, stock rebuilds are a waste of money imo.
