Has anybody had an issue with the auto in the Euro?
Specifically failing to drive in D and R?
So far the dealer has indicated a torque converter defect.
2006 with 55k. Easy driving.
Is it common?

Nothing!
First indication was harsh gear change from 1st to 2nd.
6-8 weeks later I was driving when drive kicked in and out as if i was shifting from N - D - N and so on, until 200m up road there was no drive at all. Inc R and M. Tow was req to service centre.
Lucky for warranty.

Gotta love the warranty.
Torque converters are a fairly "low failure" item in most cars (as they're simple, fluid filled, mechanical devices). I think the 5R55x family of Ford trannies may have had converter issues, but that's about all I think!
