One bike instantly comes to mind, Suzuki DR-Z400SM. They are Under $9k new.

If you're real lucky, you might find an injected WR250R for that price.

I would get, and i will once i have the cash, a KTM 300 exc.

Only weighs in at 110kg wet and has around 50hp...(idk why its lams, thats a joke power to weight ratio for a learner) Although, you are a learner so maybe u should start with something a bit slower.

Just get an xr250/drz250 and put road tires on it. 400s are shit cos u pay at least $400 a yr on rego. Thats another reason for the 300exc, being 293cc it just slips below the 300cc green slip threshold

Yeh but parts for a KTM are a bit expensive bit harder to get in than a honda, suzuki ETC

Well the Euros make the best motards. Hondas are ugly as, i got an xr and its putrid.

Theres the Suzuki DRZ400. Get the offroad one as its got the better carbs and what not and buy the motard stuff seperate, ends up cheaper than making the actual motard one more powerful

lol sounds like a nice bikes Yz250Wr is 2stroke, whats the price just curiousThey are hard to find, they go for around the $4k - $5k for an '01 model. My best mate had one up in the Territory, and was a normal MX beast unrestricted.

You might be better off getting a ktm 250exe or 300exc which is much more easy to find, plus a later model for the same price.

If you want a real cheapy, you could go for a Suzuki RMX250. They are great for an older bike.
