Hi, I live in Melbourne eastern sub.
Currently I am looking for to repaint my front bumper because of its right side scratch.

I got two options from workshop, one is that the whole bumper will be taken off and repainted wholly. The other is hand paint half of bumper without taking off it.

I want to know which way is better to choose. How much about it?
I got quote is $500 for first one and $350 for second. Is it expensive?

Thanks! Waiting to hear from you.

you are getting ripped.

it should cost no more than $300 for a good job. this will include taking the bar off, sanding back the whole thing, repraying the whole thing, and putting it back on

When a part has to be painted doesn't the part need to be "baked" at high temperatures to allow the paint to set and seal properly? If that's the case it's better to pay a bit more and have the job done properly.
Cost wise, search around and get a few quotes. I got some quotes to have my Civic bumper resprayed and the best quote I got for that was $330 icluding GST. So the price for the Euro would be similar, just depending how difficult the front bumper on the Euro is to remove.

A while ago I was quoted $300 for plastic weld + full sand back/respray + take off/put back on

Where have you done the job? The quote sounds good.
Could you give me the name of workshop?
Thanks.

Have you done the job? How is respray work? Are you satisfied?
How will I know whether the bumper is going to be banked or not? They may say to bake the bumper, but they don't do it truly.

Are you in Mel? If yes.
Where have you done the job?

I had my car fixed just recently after an accident. The whole front of the car was replaced and the paint job was really good. Can get you a quote tomorrow if you like.
How bad is your scrath anyway? You got a pic?

Yeah, i'm really happy with the job. I took it to a Honda dealer after the repairs and had them inspect the car. They checked it all over under their lights and managed to find one very small imperfection that was barely noticable to the eye, but the panel beater fixed all that up and all is good.
I don'tknow how you would tell if the bumper was baked. You just have to trust their honesty. Thereis nothing stopping you from asking if you can watch from a distance.

Oh, waiting for your message tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
My front bumper scratch is minor. it is close only right front wheel and under right front of headlight. The frame is fine, no broken, no damage, like what i described above, it is only surface paint scratch. I guess that scratch caused by corner or trees.

Thks.

Maybe a detailer could "work" the mark out for you without needing a respray. I took my Civic for a quote on minor damage and every one offered a total respray costing anywhere from $330+ as a solution. The last panel beater I visited used some cutting compound to remove some light scrathes and prepared some touch up paint to fix some very small blemishes. The front bumber looks like brand new and all this just cost me $10.

Well, it is good to hear that. I think my scratch cannot be done by only touch up, because is several length of lines scratch.

If you can give me more information of your workshop which deal with your problem, it will be so great.

I don't think length is an issue, it's the depth.
