Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone has the same issue as me, my Driver seat moves as if its loose!

I've checked the bolts underneath but i can't get my hands in to tighten it up nor do i know what bolt to tight... also it moves whenever i push the clutch in.

I heard that its a common thing in civics, is this correct?

I've gotten use to it but it's still annoying, was wondering if there's any seat specialist you guys know around the Sydney Yennora region.

This is NOT my car but it's the exact same model/type

Honda Civic 2001 5Sp Man 5Door Hatchback VI Version - what are these abbreviated to?

Great little cars, very roomy and fuel efficient!!

Thanks for the reply,

I bought it used not NEW
If i'd purchased it from a dealer they would be the first people I'd bring it back to.

My guess is that somehow your seats may be unaligned?

Take the seat out by:

Taking off the plastic caps on all four floor brackets for your seat.

Unbolt them all and if your car has seat air bags, do NOT pull out any of the electrical wires, if your car doesn't have them then pull the main one out that links to your seatbelt sensor.

See if your rails are aligned properly or if there are any clear visual fractures etc etc.

If you can't see anything then bolt it all up and take it to Honda. Lol.

Good luck

Thanks for the replys,

Anyone have any other ideas or mechanics that can assist me around my area?

And going to Honda is not an option, they will probably charge me the price of a brand new chair

you may have dislodged a spring in the rails. check if the rails move up and down. if so all you need to do is go to the wreckers and buy one side of the rails.

oh and to check the bolts slide the seat all the way back for the front bolts and slide all they way front and recline them forward for the back bolts. check if they are tight and see if it still moves.
