it is a shame to post it here coz it was stupid of me to over-torque the bonnet hinge bolts and strip the thread of the bolt hole on the bonnet. i stripped the htread of one bolt hole - the lower hole on the passenger side hinge. so that leaves me 1 bolt on that side and 2 bolts on the driver's side (plus the bonnet lock) that are holding the bonnet in place.

i'm thinking of only 2 solutions at the moment - get the stripped thread ripped out and replaced with a fresh nut by a panel beater or get a new bonnet. these would be really costly.

advice on other ways to fix this is requested and will be appreciated.

Get a thread cleaner or a thread tapper which is 1 size larger. Retap the threads, protect with fish oil and use a larger bolt.
