Just would like some info on whats the best option between ITR and CTR cams?
I read somewhere, i dont remember where though, that you can use a combination of both one being the inlet/intake cam and the other the outlet/exhaust cam....any truth to this? also any truth that CTR cams are more aggressive?

The reason i ask this is that because i would like to modify the head and my options atm are;

change to a b16 head and get b16b cams and skunk2 or other aftermarket IM (unsure yet)
change to an itr head and aftermarket IM
or leave the head change the cams to either CTR or ITR or even the combination and aftermarket IM

At the moment unsure on throttle body as well.
So basically, out of the three whats the best option on performance enlisting; response, gains, reliability etc and also money wise.

By the way its not going to be a track car its just i hate the butt ugly IM of the vti-r and would like a little more performance out of the motor with this sort of modifications.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

if all you're worried about is how the im looks just get a skunk2 im and get cams if you like, cheapest and most effective option

The exhaust cam on the ITR and CTR cams are identical.. The intake cam on the CTR cams is 2 degrees bigger then the ITR item... This difference is really not at all noticeable..

My advice to you would be to keep your current head, Get CTR or ITR cams... Or even better get aftermarket cams, Get a Skunk2 Inlet manifold and bigger throttle body and then with the money you were going to spend on getting the head, put that towards getting a hondata ecu and get the thing tuned! You should be happy with how it goes then

I think to make the most out of aftermarket cams, yes, cam gears are needed.

just depends how much money you have to spend, but what the others have said is good.

ITR/CTR cams, better yet, aftermarket cams.
Aftermarket IM & TB.

You'll need ECU and tune to make it all work, or else you'll be just going backwards with the new setup.

So looking at aftermarket cams, which is looked to be quite reknowned in overall status. As in value for money, performance given, reliablity.
The only aftermarket cams i've heard of are buddyclub, skunk2, crower, hks and thats about it.

As for IM and throttle bodt i'm currently looking at getting skunk2 products.

ITR 98+ cams are same as CTR cams, but as stated its so nominal its not gonna make that much difference
I got quoted $80 to just drop in the cams.

Cam gears prob not really needed but a programable ecu is

So if ITR and CTR cams are the same then they should of the same price range (new)?

What be a recommended brand of aftermarket cams for more daily driven purposes?

Pretty much the ITR/CTR are gonna b ur best road type cams.
The other ones will be more aggressive.

So what i stated in the first post about the CTR and ITR cams about one being inlet and the being outlet is false and pretty much rubbish? Just to clarify.
