hi all just got this DC5 Type R with 16,000km on the clock.

The CEL (for 02 sensor) occasionally came up, and i was informed by the seller it was because he changed full exhaust from header, downpipe and exhaust with DC Sport.

So i brought the car to the garage and it was reset, at the moment it had been off... is it normal to have the car throwing 02 sensor CEL, if you modify the exhaust system?

I am a newbie... so need help from you guys expert

Do the DC sport headers have both the front and rear 02 sensors in the headers?

I think these are the headers that only have the rear sensor... if thats the case, one sensor isn't "plugged in", so thats why your getting the error.

That or one of the sensors is broken (Sensor itself, plugs etc).

Just noticed your from Jakarta... so that would mean you have the JDM DC5R... lucky sod.

Thanks mate!!! yes there are 2 sensors, front and back... the cars was lifted on the Car lift and we inspected the undercarriage. all were plugged in. However the CEL had been reset through HONDA HIM module, nad has not come back since yesterday.

Yes it is a JDM DC5.... but apart from the Brembo brakes, and 20hp more, i dont see any more differences with AUDM DC5 right? well, Jakarta is known for its hell traffic, so does not make much different, haha

Well if the CEL light isn't turning on, all is fine. Just keep an eye on it I guess, and if it keeps coming on every now and then, get a Honda workshop to do a diagnostic on it.

APPARENTLY... because it has JDM in the name, it’s the shit.

So yeah...

haha, you're right mate!!! i don't really care if it is a JDM or AUDM DC5... as long as it got 6 speed K20A, RECARO seat and Momo knob and the HUGE WING... that's what I want..

Now time to get the Genuine Mugen Wing.
Surely very expensive when you can import a car like that.. :)

You might need to replace the O2 sensor. My experience with my car was that the cat wasnt suitable and gave me a lot of problem, i.e. ****ed up both my o2 sensors...

now replaced and all running good.. :) good luck

hi Vippy, i paid around AUD 35,000.00 , it was used 2002 with 16,000 on the clock....

about the experience with your car.... you have aftermarket cat too? i think that's the problem too..... but we'll see if the CEL comes back on.

So you still have aftermarket exhaust system with OEM O2 right?

I sold off my aftermarket exhaust system and got a new system.
Yes I am using OEM O2 Sensors for both Primary and Secondary Sensors.

That is alright for that price. 280jt isn't expensive for import cars. Because I remembered last time when I wanted to import one when I was in Indo but it was way too expensive then. I don't know how much has changed with the rules and stuff, I have been away for too long.

I might need your help in providing me more info of how to import cars to Indo too now. Seeing that price, I want to import 1 or 2 in for family :)

haha... so u fm Indo too?? used to live in Sydney for 8 yrs.... Well the import market is wide wide open nowadays... a lot od JDM FD2 Type Rs, WRXs, STi, EVO X is more common sight... but their population probably less than 1%..... still considred too expensive for some....

we dont personally import the cars to here, we bought it from the importers who have imported car showrooms.... they have the correct channel with govt and Customs... u know these stuff.....

as for me i never bu brand new cars... cos usually the 2nd hand could be 30% cheaper...

yeah mate, Indo too.
Nice.. Definitely you have nice cars there. Mod it well and especially Indo, you can get customs for everything, even radiator. Better get branded and good quality stuff :)
heheh

at the moment i will leave it stock, except for the Full DC Sport Echaust system i got when i bought the car... hehe...

yes you are right, you can modify it the wildest you can ever imagine here without getting defect notice or you can speed without fearing the cops, like in Oz..... hahaha but looking at the road condition, all would be impossible, haha
