Just got towed home this afternoon because the poor old ED wouldn't start. Though I sussed it was a no spark situation, I called our local automobile association (RAA) and he diagnosed the problem and thinks that it is the coil. What does every one think and if it is the coil .....

1./ Can it be replaced
2./ Can you get recons (and how much)
3./ Get one form a wreck?
4./ Help !!!

I'm a bit pissed that I didn't have the time to chase it myself and see if I could have bought the coil and replace it myself, but I was desperate to have the old ED up and going for the weekend and so paid the man :(

it has no spark, not the belt snapped, if it has no spark then it could be the coil pack, dizzy leads, plugs, belt doesnt give spark

IF the timing belt snapped.....you would not get spark anyway as the dizzy fires indirectly from the timing belt.

yeah but his saying it's the alternator belt not the timing belt, how does the alternator belt give it spark LMAO the belt doesn't give it spark one of the things i mentioned above gives it spark or could be one of the problems therefor not giving spark but its the coil pack anyways
