Radio Install 2000 CR-V

I want to get rid of the tape player(who puts a tape player in a car in 2000):confused: I've had a quick look but not 100% on where to start. If someone has done this can you let me know please. Pictures aren't important just a description.

Also I've searched for a Harness adapter(aftermarket radio) but haven't been able to find one. Has anyone found a joint which makes these to suit a Clarion head unit - std CR-V radio?

Here's a link on how to remove the head unit and also the wiring chart in case you just want to cut and connect to the clarion adapter. Its for the 98-00 model 1st gen, so hopefully its the right one as there is a new model introduce at that year also.

Thank you very much for that.;) That's a very good work instruction. I wouldn't have thought to remove the lower dash.
