View Full Version : Car decided not to start... can't hear fuel pump!
Hi guys,
Last night when I went to turn on the car I noticed the fuel pump priming sound was absent. As such, engine tries to turn over but won't fire.
It seems to me like it's an issue relating to the fuel pump, however I'm hoping it's something small. Could it be a fuse or something of that nature?
Courtesy of RACV I'll have it towed to Chasers Motorworks tomorrow morning and hopefully they'll sort it out. Convenient timing, as it's booked in for wednesday to wire in the MoTeC M400 anyway.
If you've had a similar problem please post.
regards

RACV have an extra fee for lowered cars. But when I got mine towed recently, I avoided the extra fee (if they can't get a finger gap between the wheel/guard, which mine has no gap at the back).. The tow truck driver I had took every precaution possible and was really picky about getting it on and off, not a single scrape.

Can see its not overly low, but without the precautions taken could've been left with half a front bar :P
That's interesting, I've never had an issue with any of my cars (all lowered).

The tow truck driver told me it was a new thing they'd introduced because so many cars are these days

I'll have to drag my lazy self over to a meet, was gonna come to the carwash one last night but it was dark, I can barely get my car clean in the daylight. :P I'll stop hijacking the thread anyway!

Lucky you ashwee.. my tow truck driver a week back ignored everything I said.. hes like shh, was in a bad mood.. Tows my car up.. scrapes the back
When taking it off.. hes like COME ON COME ON.. i was in the driver seat.. i gently let the brake go bit by bit.. then bang.. hits the ground and gets stuck there lol..
managed to get it off with many nasty sounds

Ouch. I took my rear lip off while I was waiting for the truck, to give better access to the tow hook. I didn't sit in the car to get it off the tray cause I had no brakes.. eep! Left him to do that job.

i have a video last time tow truck had to get our car took him no joke 45mins to get it on the truck :Ponly minor scraps.... was pretty impressed considering that the car was 26mm off the ground
when the clutch main bearing seized on my dad's R34 GTR we had to take off the front splitter to get it onto the truck (it sits under 3 inches off the ground)
