Im currently underway in swapping out my blown d15b7 motor to a d16y8 into a 93 eg civic hatchback. Has anyone done this swap before as im not sure with the engine mounts in regards to the left top mount near the power steering pump and also the rear mount bracket do i need to swap these both over to the d15 stuff or is there a way to make it work becuase i have tried to install the motor but it just wont line up

Any help will be greatly appreciated

take the mount bracket off the D15B7, ( the bit bolted to the block ) and put it on the D16Y8, then use the D15 Mount

nice, im looking at a d15b4 to d16y1 swap. so mounts need to go over, what about the brqackets for PS and A/C are they a straight swap?

New issue raised tonight the d15b7 power steering bracket will not fit on to the d16y8 block. I guess i have to use the d16y8 pump and bracket but the Hi pressure power steering line will not fit onto the d16y8 pump does anyone know where i can source this hi pressure power steering line from ?

u can modify the mounting bracket from your d15b7 to fit. I use a round file to removed the bit colored in red. That way, u can reuse your d15b7 p/s pump.

it bolted up nice and everything lined up

i thought that i might have the motor up and running tonight but 2 new issues
the new rad i bought the inlet and out let is too big to use with stock hoses does anyone know where would be the best bet to get custom rad hoses
secondly the collector flange on the d16y8 is a mismatch with eg exhaust system looks like i have to take that to an exhaust shop one everything else is sorted out

You can use the stock headers on the d15b engine, that should line up with the EG cat

You can run a p28 ecu
p28 - SOHC vtec from vti

yes but they are 4-1 headers and the d16 is 4-2-1 i want to take advantage of that i not to sure if it will do much in the way of performance anyone ?

4-1 headers is better for top end, isnt that wat u want?

the d16y8 header may have a slightly bigger collector.

you can run a P28 with D16Y1 code, you still have to run extra wires to the engine bay for VTP and VTS
