EK9 Cluster Install

Just checking before I order my Type R gauge cluster that it will plug into my Vti dash plugs? I know that I wont have dimmer control over the dash any more as one green plug doesn’t fit (or something like that) but there wont be any problem with me running a D series engine? Are all EK (96-00) gauge cluster plugs the same (regardless of B or D serries engines)?

MRJDM, do you have a D16 or B16. If you've got a D16, does that mean the redline on your CTR cluster is never reached?

Rev limiter on a D16 comes in at about 6500 to 7000 rpm, while on the B16 rev limits at about 7500 to 8000 rpm.

if you remove the gauges from an ITR cluster, will they fit into the EK4/9 cluster as a replacement.
i.e. i want to swap the gauges from an itr cluster into my EK4 cluster without getting a new complete EK9 cluster. make sense .. :?

paid 298 USD shipped. i dont know how much tax im going to pay when it gets here. was quoted 400 USD to 450 USD locally(one quote was 700 USD).

you can get the mugen ek9 cluster in Japan for about 800usd. O and its brand new too

Yes you are correct, by putting in the CTR cluster, you will only be able to rev upto as much as your normal d16 engine will rev to.

its like putting an aftermarket autometer tacho. The face goes up to 11k rpm but you'll never reach it because your engine does not rev upto that amount :)

depends if its a JDM one or not. JDM's go for as much as ek9's usually.

Just curious. :confused: I dont mean to be picky just want to kno, my b16 revs till wat... 8500 or higher before limiter kicks in.. and the power keeps pulling till then too
