Anyone had any experience with brian cower stroker kits? They have a b18c stroker kit that takes displacement to 2.2L, quite a big jump!

Cost is about 2000 Usd ex USA including lightweight crank (20lbs), billet rods, forged pistons in any ratio, rod bolts etc...

2.5 to 3k AUD for a rebuild (labour) here and it's not a bad deal...

Just wondering if it would be reliable at reasonable rpm (8500 stock b18c7)

Opinionswelcome

Bore for 2.2 is 85.00mm so you'll also need a sleeved block added into your budget.
+ cometic head gasket

Built right it would be fine to 8500 (Even 8800rpm)
NB: With a 95mm stroke the pistons will flog out sooner rather than later.
You'll also need some high lift cams to make the most of it.

With the currency as it is, ill stick to a B20 (CRV block) and build it up. There is heaps of good result from simple B20vtec build up

Appreciate Adrian's response specifically because it answers my queries completely. Thanks for that.

I'm not planning an engine build atm, will be paying for my motec m400 tomorrow :(

If I ever do, I'd probably just do a k swap and sell my b18cr etc...

K aint a cheap option though, especially when asking good numbers of it.

Adrian is right though, people dont consider the extras when budgeting for a build.

Still interested to see how your m400 and tune goes.

I was thinking more of a stock K20 or something. Though paying for my motec tomorrow, i'm not interested in short term! haha

Will let you know re motec tomorrow, also expect the transfer for the f20c tomorrow morning...

Kswap can be done cheaply if you know how to shop around and know some mechanical knowledge. The conversion itself is pretty straight forward
