rule out h22 and b18 if u want a conversion for under 5k... turboing ur current motor may be your best bet if budget is an issue

research all your options. learn a bit about each then decide what best suits what you are after. each have their pro's and cons. search is your friend

EK-CTR is on the ball. you got 5k budget no problems

b16a from ek4 or eg6 crx blahblah

you can get maybe front cut or running gear 2-3k and if you got knowledge then obv no labour but if u dont then 1k+ depends on what shop it is and their qaulity if your in syd pm ben the mod as he can do conversion for a good price

You will be able to do a h22 or even b18c conversion if you were to do the whole conversion yourself.

if you want to go turbo - boost the d16a8, most bang for buck.
if you want to go all motor. b16a, as most people have suggested, is definately within your budget.

what integra do you have? if you've got a d16a, then turbo it. a b-series swap to a b16a will cost you around the 8-10g mark. so then add another 5g at the minimum to boost.

im in the process of turbocharging my D16A8 CRX, and with a budget of $5K u will have to buy cheap parts, im assuming ur not going to buy a standalone computer?? $$
My setup with stock internals is costing me around $6K which includes some s/h parts i managed to get.
good luck with it

im running rb20 turbo @ 10psi with a d16A8 (stock internals, but rebuilt) @ the moment, def cheap thrills, esp past 4000rpm :)
RB20 cheap to replace, already broke one :) get a good exhaust manifold, i've got a cheap ebay crap @ the moment, most of the probs are with my mani now, cant take the heat and cracks, had a friend weld up for now, i shouldn't suggest other forums, but www.turbod16.com (US site) has a ton of info. The yanks have used and abused the D16's
I guess it comes down to funds, i've done all of the replacing myself (except rebuild) so not paying labor costs (broke at the moment) i've learned a s**t load from messing with the car, easy engine to work on
Hope this helps a bit
Steve

hi bro! 4 yrs ago i had a D16 turbocharged back in singapore and what i can give an advise is DON'T DO IT! I had lots of problems coming after that the Engine was giving me more Than i spent for the TC . And the power u are getting is not that u expect For sure... Think twice bro Turbocharging is not about doing up a Simple job.. those that really TC their cars They should know the Price to pay. As for honda is make NA thats why till now honda Is still Not Switching to TC Cos for many years their engine is make to Be NA Thats why is high com. Unless u wanna make ur engine to low com and that will cost u heaps , Get a b18 Front cut With Their Gearing 4.785 U should be happy on Hills And streets.. The Following Link is my Mates EK4 Turbocharged That Won A R35 In singapore Yes its fast But he spent A lot too ... d16 has its limits bro! Tuning also makes a very big diff!
