Coin Box not closing?

Hey.

I recently purchased an 04 Euro.

Today, I opened the coin box on the drivers side. It felt solid and supported by a spring.
But when the box fully opened, it 'popped' and now feels loose and refuse's to close?

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Is there a fix?

Get some araldite and glue it shut.. you'll never have the problem again.. LOL,

Pull out the box completely and check on the floor around the pedals, or in the dash itself to see if a supporting spring has come loose, or if a bracket on the change tray has snapped or broken dude.

I've tried googling how to remove the coin box.

No luck?
Could you step by step instruct me?

I only had my Euro for 5 weeks I ain't 100%.. I'd be undoing the dash around the footwell and steering wheel to get to the back of it..

there should be screws on the side that you can see when the drivers door is open (screws or clips)

Ok I've taken a look.

I've reached around to the back of the coin box and had a feel.
The springs that had been supporting the box have detached and have fell into the back of the coin box. (it's shaped like a 'v').

There is one screw directly below the coin box. I unscrewed it and tried to take the fascia off but it wouldn't budge.

Any ideas?

You have to take out the entire plastic trim around the coin box as well. :(

As aaron has said, if it was being held with spring maybe the spring has fallen off and hence why it's loose.
