id say between 3.5 and 4L. take it for a drive once you have put new oil in, and park it on level ground turn engine off and check oil dip stick. just dont VTEC it while taking it for a drive, wouldnt wanna do damage to engine just for a lil mistake like this.

b16a takes 4L inc. oil filter already
so might be a bit more for b18c?

you do not have to drive it.
just let it idle there for a few minutes.

best way to do it, just get a 5L engine oil , park your car in a flat surface.... pour in 3.5L and check the dip stick if not enough pour in abit more until it has reach the maximum line on the dip stick. But make sure u dont over fill or else you will need to drain it out.

~4.2L with oil filter

yeh that sounds bout right^^^
just take it for a quick drive down the end of your road, so the oil can go through all the galleries and give you a more accurate reading of oil level. well thats what i do, no harm. 1-3mm over the max hole on dip stick wont matter much, just dont over fill it otherwise things may go wrong

honda manual tells me 4.0 litres is required , to replace used oil and filter capacity.
4L on our b18c7, assuming you've drained out the old fluid properly, replaced the oil filter and you dont have an external oil cooler which adds a bit to the oil holding capacity.

remember not to check the oil level straight after a drive. most of the oil will still be in the head. give it a good 20 mins or so before checking the oil level

what about h22z?
5L went into my h22a... but just do what has been said. pour about 4 in, let it sit for a bit, turn on the car, turn it off. check the stick. put more if u need.

hmm yeah, cause i poured 4L last time with genuine fluid, but it wasn't enough, had to top it off with 5-30W or something.

with a H22A you need 4.8L if you changed the oil filter as well.
putting in 4L only will leave your dipstick below the bottom dot from what i've seen...
half way between the dots means you're down around ~350-400ml...i know because i always top up once my dipstick gets around 40%-50%.

oil filter is not required every oil change. Generally every 10,000ks where oil should be changed every 5,000ks

i think oil will get trapped in the older oil filter and then u be mixing new oil wit old oil as i heard if u dont replace it :p

Dont tell me.The honda manual says to do it.
Besides , within a few minutes the new oil mixes with old - surface oil , trapped in galleries etc all thru the engine. No issue.
