96 is the EK model rights.? just aslong as its an EK to EK it should be fine. except that i heard that the sideskirts have a different measurement or fit, so it needs to be customised abit, but doesnt the sedan come with side skirts anyway???the front OEM lips should fit because i have the EK coupe and me and my friend tried fitting the lip into his EK sedan and it fit perfectly.

If the stock bumpers look fine, why would you buy new bumper and new lips. Just buy new lips and put them on the stock bumpers?? or am I missing something?

hey guys, i posted this up too on one of the threads looking for OEM lips, rear lips u can try a company called HONDA ACCESS bought mine for about 150-200, and the front lip can be bought for 150-200 from SAS in the city forgot the contact numbers for both places but this is NSW based, respraying it can cost about 50 bucks at Dalmirs or a fair priced repairs or u can try the touch up guys, but yeah goodluck guys because at times theyr still hard to get your hands on, once available they get bought, i will be selling my set in a few months as soon as i get a custom lip kit so if yoru willign to wait i will surely post in the for sale!!

I think its like this (someone correct me if im wrong)

AUDM;
96-98 - w/ mouldings
98-00 - w/o mouldings

I dont think any of the USDM Civics came with mouldings (either 96-98 or 99-00).

The compatibility between the 96-98's and the 99-00's is a bit dodgy from what ive heard. For example; on the hatch, a 99-00 rear bar will fit a 96-98, however the front will not.

(Once again, this is just how I think it is  )

This is so funny, all the US people want the bumpers WITH the mouldings for the "JDM, yo!" look.

sorry to sound like a NOOB heheh but what do u mean by mouldings?

I'm pretty sure that all civic coupes and the 99-00 hatches came without mouldings.

EK9

here goes... for EK civic of course

AUDM & JDM
96-98
sedan, hatch: has moulding (wot do i mean by mouldings someone asked??? ie plastic bits on corner of front and back bumpers, like the ones on the door)
coupe: no mouldings (built in USA)
99-00 sedan, hatch, coupe: no mouldings, updated front end (different shaped bumper, lights, fender, hood - same grill)

USDM - no mouldings wotsover... also, the mouldings on the doors are fatter than the ones on our AUDM civic (except the coupe cos it's built in the USA). Dat's y the Americans want the mouldings for the "JDM" look and also change their side mouldings to the thinner JDM versions.

so... you can interchange the front bumper between all the 96-98 models, but not from 99-00 to 96-98 cos of the shape difference and vice versa.
and the rear bumper should fit thru all the models (same body shape of course).

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong guys...

Hang on! Does the EK9 have the mouldings on the bumpers? If no then why do the americans want a JDM look if the type r doenst have it? If you just coour code the bumpers would it look ok or would it look like shit?

ABZY

i had the mouldings color coded, looks good but better if they weren't there

OK Let me try...

99-00 EM1, EK1, EK9 are compatible... (no mouldings)

96-98 EJ8, EK4 Are compatible... (With mouldings)

When changing between bars from 99-00 spec to 96-98 there are some things to consider:

- Headlights are different shape and look
- The bonnet lines on a EK4 are different to say EK1 or 9 so the grille won't line up and the bumper will look off...

Maybe you can go to a bodykit specialist to have one made up or remove the mouldings and get it filled and resprayed

EK9s don't have mouldings for both 96-98 and 99-00 models. the american's want both the ek9 and ek4 jdm looks, so moulded bumpers are jdm to them and are rare/hard to get items over there, making them more 'cool' :D

So all those people here who want to get rid of their bumpers w/mouldings can trade them off to people in the U.S....with an inflated cash adjustment of course.. ;)

haha, i thought of that a while ago and a guy from the US even contacted me... dunno how logistics would work out tho! LOL
