To remove, use a random orbital with a medium cut pad and a proper compound like Poorboys SSR2.5. Even that will take a long time because the random orbital is pretty weak.

Not from supercheap. Supercheap sells only consumer items. You might be able to find an equivalent in the Meguiar's Professional range, but if I remember correctly, the equivalent product is sold at the distributors and not at supercheap.

If you want to cover it up, use a sealant or wax. Something like Meg's NXT wax will help but you will still see most of it under most lighting conditions.

Without a swirl remover, the 4 step isn't going to do much. You can remove deep swirls, look at the work that h22a accord did on badly swirled cars in the detailing section.

I've been able to remove mine by hand, but if it's deep, yea professional help is advised

and by the time you look into the purchase of a machine, specialist products, a $150 repaint isnt a bad idea? :D

I mean in products alone for detailing I'd have an easy $500+ worth of opened stuff in my garage, lol

Last I checked, a bonnet respray would cost about 300-500 for a good job. $150 would be a quick one without blending.

Yes, you need a good machine to work with it. I used to use a Bosch PEX400AE which costs $150 and is not strong enough for swirl removal, which made me go for a rotary instead (which carries more risk of damage). A good random orbital would be Meg's dual action polisher: http://www.meguiars.com.au/productdetail_2006.php?seq=43&category=DETAILING%20ACCESSORIES&subcat=Applicators%20and%20Cloths&subsubcat=&show=4

Not cheap though.

150 is just a basic respray (paint over the existing paint) my guy would make it look like a million bux, to do it properly 300 max (bare metal, prep, paint, clear etc) , but for this it would be fine

Don't worry. All you need is a random orbital and a proper medium cut pad and some good compound like Poorboys SSR2.5. If you don't have any of that, probably post up for help from other members who have the equipment. Give them a carton of beer for their trouble.

Oh, and don't use the magnetic ones. Use the vinyl ones instead. Clean the surface with water and car shampoo, wipe dry and then apply the vinyl P plate on top.
