View Full Version : JDM ITR 4-1 Header on B16A
Would anyone have any pics of how low they'll sit when installed on a b16a?
Going to install them on an EG lowered approx 2-2.5" all round.
Have concerns they'll be too low for daily commuting.
I tried searching without success.
Thanks

they sit fine on a b16. Pretty much at sump level.
Its pretty much the only 4-1s you can run on a lowered car.

I'm at work but here's a pic of how low they are in relation to the sump.
It also shows what happens when you hit a lump of bitumen on shitty brisbane roads....
I'll post a better pic when I get home

yea i got a few letters and phone calls. Im still waiting on action though. They said it might take "a while"
o2gzm: Thanks man, appreciate that. Looks like they sit pretty low. How much has your car been lowered? Did you feel a noticeable difference in power when you put them on?

It's on kings superlow springs.
And yea bang for buck they are really good headers.

Yep it's a dent but the lighting makes it look a lot worse than it actually is. It's only in the front left corner looking at it from the front. and yea it was also caused by the hunk of bitumen and also to be replaced by main roads when it's settled.

the pics are not a JDM 4-1 header. The pic looks like a mugen style header.
The JDM 4-1s have the pipes spread out more and do not sit on top of each other, but are actually angled so that 3 pipes are down the bottom and the other pipe is half up.
oh ok any1 got pics of the JDM ITR 4-1? mounted on a b16 i.e

agreed.
JDM 4-1 have cross bars for heatshield mounting.
those are like xforce 4-1
so would that mean jdm 4-1's would sit lower ?
JDM 4-1 on b18cR will give good clearance as they are design for it.
On B16A EG it will hang low

about a 1/5 of a pipe hangs below the sump roughly

Jdm 4-1 headers on a b16a will not hang low enough to scrape... They are designed completely different to your regular mugen style 4-1's where 2 pipes sit on top of another two pipes. Making the bottom two scrape anywhere and everywhere. The jdm 4-1 headers sit on a slant to each other and not directly on top of each other...
On a b16a the jdm 4-1's will hang 7mm lower then on a b18c... Thats not enough of a difference to create problems.
Well, i just picked up my JDM 4-1's with heatshields today.
Fingers crossed they don't get damaged once installed.

the heat shields protect it, they are pretty tough

unless you think its cool to drop you car on its guts
then it will be fine
but they do hang to the point you will hit drive ways, speed bumps, and bumps on the road
so you have to drive sideways when u need too
heat shields make it slightly lower too
anyway my personal opinion and real life exprience

1 its not a track car so lowering it that much is GHEY, 2 Pm EG5 and ask for some bigger sway bars cause it will help your car in cornering more than lowering it 3 good choice on the headers

It could be the difference between just scraping the pipe or causing a 7mm dent....
