Hi guys,
There's this annoying engine rattle in my DC5R everytime I rev up (not even high) and lift off gently.
Is this an issue I should take up with a mechanic? Do I need to visit a specialised mechanic? When it comes to diagnosing sounds, are they generally cooperative and ask you to demonstrate or do they mostly play it off as "normal"? Much appreciated

Might be pinging. What fuel are you using?

If could replicate the noise to the mechanic they usually can figure out where/what it is. They usually check the exhaust from underneath to see if it's loose or hitting on anything and work from there....

Thing is, I don't know how easy it would be to identify, as the sound is only audible when the vehicle is in motion (under load), not in idle.
I hope they got some really good equipment

could be anything wont be figured out properly without a diganosing session by the mechanic you cant go fixing one thing, then it still happens waste time and money do it right the first time

I got a similar sound in my teg also, I think its got to do with the clutch/release bearing

Thanks for the tips guys, mine doesn't sound like either of them. I'll get a video recording tonight if i can.
I'll probably take it down to hanny's after i'm made redundant (1 months time). Let's see what he can do

Engine rattles are most likely to be the engine mounts broken or clutch bearings

it could be your muffler like inside is all collapsed and rotten and its rattling about at certian revs infact it could be any heatshield, bolt, nut, clip, mount u name it loose so just take it to a mechanic to look at it casue theres no point just guessing what it could be

Collapsed cat?
If you had a spun bearing, the sound would come when you are accelerating, not only when you release the throttle.

Booked in to see Hanny on Saturday. Generally, when visiting a mechanic, can I just list out and demonstrate the (3) issues and get him to fix it all in 1 visit (or attempt to). Or is it usually 1 issues per visit? Apologies for noobness, my first time visiting a mechanic.

just tell them all of the issues mate.
I think it could be loose heatshield. It happened to mine many times, but it is now okay. You really do need to tighten them really hard for it to stop rattling..
i reckon it's something to do with the cat

The guy at Hanny's just took out my torque dampener, and the sound stopped.
