Hey,

Just after the best way to make up a silencer for my exhaust
i got the car with probably one of the loudest systems on the market
and its to loud. ( buddy club spec II )

just after what materials would be best to use to shut it up a little
i have been told to use steel wool, and roof insulator.

But would like it to be removable at will with ease.

any ideas would be great.

Steel wool is bad mojo. Take it to an exhaust place.

Well I think he means he wants to do it himself. It wont hurt to just 'try' using steel wool anyways. But yes the proper option would be to get a silencer made up at a 'zaust shop

i've always wanted to try this...
- grab an off-cut of stainless steel sheet metal from a metal recyclers - they often just give away smaller pieces.
- cut out a circle small enough to fit inside your muffler - leave a tab on either side of the circle.
- cut a hole in the middle of this circle to make a "doughnut" with tabs.
- bend the tabs back at 90 degrees.
- drill a small hole through the middle of each tab.
- stick it inside the end of your muffler and drill holes in your muffler to line up with the ones in the tabs.
- attach the silencer with small, stainless nuts & bolts.

For extra silencing you could put stainless steel wool on the inside of the silencer you made. that way u could use both and they'd be easy to remove.

yeah... it'll all shoot out the end when you start the car. lol

however, to get past a noise test, i once tied 2 steel wool balls to a length of stainless cable i had lying around. i undid my axle back and stuffed the steel wool balls down toward the muffler and left the cable hanging out. did the axle-back up and secured the cable to one of the bolts. was nice and quiet - albeit a little restrictive.

Put a Bannana in your exhaust, makes for a good laugh!
