0.15 - 0.19 mm INLET
0.17 - 0.21 mm OUTLET

same for type R engines as well as quoted from official Honda technicians guide so it's accurate

Make sure the engine is ice cold when you do it. Those clearances will change dramatically once things get warm.

You will need some non-standard tools to do the job yourself.

The adjuster nuts are about 40mm below the top of the head. I used a flex-head gear-spanner with a shifter on the end to turn it. If you had a tube socket that you could turn with a spanner, that could work too. You have to use an open tool so you can hold the adjuster screw in the right place while you tighten the nut.

It's also hard to get the feeler guages in there to measure the clearance.

Note too that you need to have the cylinder you're adjusting at Top Dead Centre, ie if no. just after inlet valves closed and just before exhaust valves opening. Once you have no 1 lined up, using the timing marks on the crank and the cam pulleys, you can line up the next cyclinder (no 3) by rotating the camshafts 90 degrees counter-clockwise, using the crank. Then repeat for cylinders 4 then 2.

I don't know what Honda charge for the job, but it sure is a pain to do it yourself. Though if you have the time, patience and right tools, then have a go at it.
