Hey guys,

was checking out a tut on the 8thcivic forums, just had a few issues needing clarification regarding the installation of an aftermarket HU in an FD.

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/audio/37564-diy-aftermarket-radio-install-ex.html

Is an EX (LHD) Similar (If not the same) model for features and parts as an FD (RHD) over here in aus? (If i bought an EX harness from the US would it fit the my FD?)

There appears to be quite a few harnesses on the back of the stock HU thus making it confusing when trying to establish whats what. I know some models have stock Amps and subs etc. Anyone know of a list/guide for the harness layouts on an FD? OR can someone confirm if the EX layout from link above is the same as the FD layout?

Found these EX harnesses which im hoping will also work with the FD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as im a total newb when it comes to wiring civics :P

you need a new panel and the correct harness. harness is the same for the speakers/power. be aware that there is a copy of the RHD panel running around and when left in the sun it will warp.

to be honest, atm, in Australia, thers's no harness adaptor.
but you can try to DIY, buy some Computer Pins + socket from Jaycar, and let's your imagination do the rest :D

or you could just wire in an iso harness with a wire stripping tool without cutting the origninal harness.
makes for an easier install if you chouse to change your deck at a later date.
also keeps your car sale safe next time round.

seems silly that they aren't available here anywhere really given the amount of us who aren't satisfied with stock audio :)

I can get you the antenna adaptor no problem,

coz you wont get the same result if you make one,

the reception is really bad unless you don't really listen radio much
