Hey all just bought a DA9 integra last weekend

A few problems have been fixed to pass pink slip are,
brake lights kept blowing, fixed
horn not working, fixed
tie rod end worn, needing fixing
A few issues that annoyed me were the idling flucuating up and down. I checked this yesterday and it was a vaccum hose on the intake manifold on pass side??? was connected up top but it ran into a valve that had something connected to it, then it was just rattling round disconnected. so i just put a bolt in to fix idling for time being, does anyone have any idea where this connects to on the underside of engine towards firewall. then i decided to degrease the engine, got a bit of water in the no1 plug hole, now it pops when i try to start, but it doesnt kick over, may wait till this dries out.

Car only starts when it wants to, batt seems to be fine, just it tries to kick over, the only way i can start it is by clutch starting it..

Any ideas on this problem

Cheers

If the only way to start it is by clutch starting, you may have an electrical problem (ignition).

Grab a multimetre and a friend who knows how to use one if you dont, and see if you can find any inproper readings from your dissy, ignition coil, igniter etc. I had a problem with a bad ignition coil but once replaced runs totally fine now so could be an easy fix like that.

As for the idling problem, could be a dirty IACV (search it), it needs to be taken out and cleaned, this can help the idling problem. If it jumps just a smidgen (like from 500-600 rpm like mine does) its not THAT bad but if it jumps to like 2000 and 3000 then yes you need to have it looked at

i think the starting problem is the main fuel relay... brown box located under the steering wheel.. you can either re-solder the joints or buy a new one.

The vacuum hose you d/c sounds like the vac hose to the carbon canister. All that will happen with this is you wont be venting your fuel vapours into the IM for burning off with the engine strokes.

I cant be sure if thats the hose or not, you should trace where it goes.

If it is the one to the carbon cannister it wont do anything for your running of the car, fuel vapours will vent into the engine bay right out of wherever the hose ends though.
This is not big deal as long as you keep ignition sources away from it.

id check main relay first... its a common prob if it dont work then give it a hit and it should work but its only a quick fix

hey all thanks for the replies car is still at mechanics getting tie rod end replaced...would i notice the difference at all with a new one....i dunno wat they do..lol....told mech, bout carbon canister, he said its all connected and he cant find where i goes...i have a screw in the end to stop air sucking in, without it rev go past 2500 or 3000 rpm....but it came from somewhere at the back of the motor but i or the mechanic have no idea, but it does something to the revs...the pipe its connected to is on the pass side on the intake...if anyone had pics i could identify to make it easier

Take a pic of where the pipe is still connected and I'll trace it out for you?

The vac hose could be a number of things:
-Brake Booster Hose
-Carbon Cannister Hose
-Fuel Pressure Regulator Hose
-PCV Valve Hose

Theres a few options i can think of of the top of my head.

hey all kikxz has figured out wat it is..the pcv valve hose...but the end plastic non bendable part is busted, so has anyone got one here for sale even if i could get the complete hose and valve and all? and with this being disconnected would it flucuate my revs??

Check your loco auto store.. repco etc.. they should have alot of aftermarket replacement parts to suit the LS.. I got ignition coils and stuff there with no problems
