Hi there guys, just wanna get some insight of the jazz... I use to have a euro and i had 20" on it and went 1.5" all round it wasnt low enough so this time round i had gone 1.5" at the rear and 2" at the front on 17". But now im getting rubbing on the front. The rubbing isnt bad but its when i go off the humps of hit small bumps on the road the back rubs bad. I been driving it for a week or two now ( not much acutally cos im paranoid) what should i do. I had gotten the original springs ressetted cos i thought it would give a smoother ride but now this rubbing when i go off humps is really getting to me. its not that bad when im in the car alone but when i got even just one extra passenger it feels like its killing the car everytime i hit a small bump. The cars looks hot lowered but its my daily and im really annoyed at it being like this now to the point i just wanna return everything back to stock. Please help. I dont know much about the jazz.....

roll the guards, that's pretty much all you can do. unless you go coilovers

That's pretty much all you can do. 17's are pretty much bound to rub anyway. I think MugenJ rubs on 17's and he's not even lowered.

Stock will look funny depending on your preferences, but it will have that big 4wd look. Rubbing also depends largely on the offset/design of your wheels as well. What is the offset of your current ones?

I got similar problem as u even using coilover but it doesn't come with camber. So i am plan to find some camber kit to fix the problem or change my rim or tyre, damn.

Seems like 16" is the cheaper way to go without all the additional fuss.

MugenJ's set up, 17x7 +42, 205/40 R17 tyre.
he only rubs at the back when the car is on full load with passengers
other than that normal driving its ok.
but i heard you can fix this problem by cutting some plastics above the wheel at the back.

Yeah that's what I had to do as well. One main part on the GD Jazz's that rubs is the screw connecting the rear bumper to the body. It's pretty pointy and stick out a bit. Try filing it down and using a smaller screw with a smaller head to hold it in.

16" wheels would not be cheap as the right tyre size is 195/45/16, which is rare and expensive, the only good ones in this size are toyo t1r (165-170 per corner), and goodyear eagle f1-gd3 (300+ per corner)

^ you are better off with a set of 195/50 R16
with 195/45 R16 it will be a 4wd and dont even think about lowering it, cause if you do, probably 5cm off the ground. bodykit is also a no no.
you can ask dyljoy why he changed his rims :P

i am sitting on 18s and lowered 35mm front & 30mm at the back and no rubbing issues even with full car load

40+ offset all around and i have Tein H-techs

I got rubbing issues but i find the way to solve it hopefully. SPC from USA provides camber bolt (http://www.spcalignment.com/PROD_DIR/SPC_PROD_SEARCH_DYN.cfm?cmd=Cam&cmd2=81260&cmd3=) for Jazz and they got dealer "Pedders Suspension" in Australia. i will visit their shop soon and see how's going.

you are 50% correct, another 50%'s reason is I want bigger rim, haha

I thought the recommended tyre size for 16's were 205/45/16? I got them for $170 each last year. I'm also lowered with the OEM VTI-S body kit. Worst damage is went over one of those cement things at the end of parking bays with 4 people in my car. Scrapped over and when I tried to reversed I popped my front off. Good thing I carry screws in my car and was able to put it back together. :) My new b-pipe scrapes over my driveway (but some lowered cars can't make it over) and I rub over a hard bump with a full load but it's heaps better than before I rolled my guards. (+35 offset)

How can i find the offset of the wheels and can anything be alter if its the wrong offset??? i dont even know how wide my tyres are will check out tomoro... Im probably gonna be shocked lol... whats the right offset and wheel size for 17 u think???

Only way to change the offset really is to buy new wheels. Offset is sometimes written on the inside of the wheel.

around +40 offset should be fine for the jazz,

I'm currently using 17x7 +43offset, 205tyres, is fine,

using c/o btw

hope this help

How strange. The VTi-S comes with 16"s... that'd suck if the 16" wheels were constantly an expensive type.

Take a moment to read this from beginning to end. It will help answer a lot of your questions.

I'd also not recommend cutting any of the plastic lining that is there. You'll get a bunch of crap collecting up there and it will be a b*tch to clean properly.
