1] i am just chasing a little info on d series gearboxes as in are they interchangeable throughout all the models i have a d16a8 without a box but can get a d16y manual box will it bolt on?


2] has anybody out there put together a quad throttle body setup for the d16a8 and how much would this cost?

Nope d16a gearbox isnt interchangeble.

as for ITB setup - wouldnt have a clue how much it would cost, but ive seen 1 other d16a motor with quads. my guess 1- 1.5g??

all d-series g/box's should be interchangeable. i believe its just the ZCs g/box's that dont fit, unsure though...

ITB, 2 - 2.5g incl ecu tuning. itb's take a little more time to tune compared to average tb & plenum setups...

linda? there was a set of ITB's for the D up for sale a while back, ask snoop he'd have an idea...

ok, so only ZC g/boxes will fit a D16A8?

i've heard of similar aged civic gearboxes being bolted up, though the driveshafts/cv's were changed i believe.
civic driveshafts are quite a bit thinner than the CRX item, so i wouldn't advise it anyway.
only speaking from experience with ED civics/crx's though, not sure on other models.

Bell housing might be different between the models, i'd just search for a D16A8 or ZC Gbox so you won't have any hassles...

dohc to sohc bell housing are different, like Sinistr said, just search for the exact gearbox.

As for ITB's, its been done, i've seen one for a d16a3 in the US, he didn't really go ahead with it. a lot of custom work needs to be done, sourcing throttles, adaptor plates or runners, fuel lines/regulators, tuning... i'd put aside at least $3-4k to get it up and running.

Most d series gearboxes will fit a d16a8 motor.

is the D series gearbox in relation to the CRX DEL SOL that u have ?!?!

no this has nothing to do with my delsol but has everything to do with my civic daily driver
