Sorry if this a re-post
Honda Accord Mugen 24sc Concept
Yep, don’t expect to see this one on your Honda dealer’s forecourt either. Using the new-shape Accord Euro as a base (known simply as the “Accord” in it’s Japanese homeland), Mugen have slapped on a supercharger, a sporty bodykit and one mammoth rear wing to create the Accord Mugen 24sc Concept.
We don’t know how much boost is being fed into the Accord’s 2.4-litre K24 inline four, but we do know this: a supercharged front-driver with a manual transmission sounds like a bit of a handful - and a lot of fun. Honda’s answer to the TRD Aurion? Pretty close to the truth, to be honest.

Dunno why but that side-rear angle view reminds me of a Holden. Barr the lights.. :s
The bodykit much better than the normal mugen kit.

90lan, im sure i read that the whole TRD devision was getting shut down thanks to the lack of support/eco crisis/blah.
the hilux and aurion have been selling side by side for a while.
in the last topgear aus mag they did a story on the lux as a last horrah b4 its stopped.
stuff like that is prob why we arnt gonna ever see mugen spec hondas in australia.
least not thru honda dealers.
to expensive, not enough people wanting it...blah.

TRD was getting shutdown cos there wasn't enough demand for their cars. I personally think 200+kw FWD is too much, then again the Euro Mugen RR should be churning out such numbers. The thing is that the TRD Aurion got shut down was also because they were facing too many problems with them, being DOA or just bustin out the motor but it also doesn't surprise me the WFC is behind shutting down TRD, its a real shame.... Seen a few around TRD Aurions around Melbourne, but they're a pretty rare sight.
Not sure about the probability of seeing Mugen spec Hondas in Australia, they currently have the whole Mudulo design thing going with the City atm. Will just be a matter of time Honda chooses to adopt it for the whole product range. Though i know for a fact that our neighbors the kiwis can get a the V6 Accord with Mugen body works across the range. All exterior mods and nothing under the hood. I srsly don't think theres a big enough demand for fast 4-bangers in Australia that are also pretty expensive. Aussies will continue and probably love their 30+L/100km unleaded drinking V8s.

meh body kits dont interest me, im talking suspension and engine mods.
and aussie will keep loving them, seeing as the new cylinder deactivation stuff is coming and v8's are getting decent fuel economy.

Don't quote me on this, however the last I read/heard regarding the Mugen FN2R is that it is still a one-off and Mugen are still deciding whether they want to begin producing the Mugen FN2R.
I've completely forgot as to which website I read/saw this on. It does look amazing though!
EDIT: TDI-North (TODA Europe) on the CivInfo (UK forum) posted:
I spoke to Mugen Europe again chasing this yesterday. Official line is that the Areo parts were for demo purposes only and they haven't even decided upon officially releasing them so if you can get them fair play.
The local companies maybe just showing markting pictures and guess prices to get interest and sales on other parts but will be interesting if anyone can actually get them yet.
And the Mugen Euro website (http://www.mugeneuro.com/News/Article.aspx?Id=13) states that...
There are currently no plans for a production model.
That said, I believe it's only a matter of time until the parts become readily available :)

I remember seeing an ad online, earlier this year of someone selling a genuine mugen rr for $150k in new zealand.
also, the username "Brian_FD2R" is having his genuine fd2r imported to australia from the uk. he says it will arrive on the gold coast, qld further towards the end of this year.
there's a couple of threads on this throughout ozhonda, including one in the civic (2001 and above) section.
