View Full Version : my oil light sumtimes flashes

hey just a quick question abt my civic eg,
i started to noitice the oil icon lighting up sumtimes when i drive, i checked the oil level and its normal.
So whats the problem with the oil?
looks like i have oil leeking?

help appreciated.

The oil light does not indicate oil level (leaks etc...) it indicates oil pressure. If the pressure drops low enough for the light to come on, the motor is in immediate danger :(

get it checked out. the light will only come on if there is no oil pressure at ALL. either u got a loose connection? or u got pressure issues... dont wait till u throw a bearing, do it now.

yes like the above fellas say, get a mechanic to test the oil pressure with a pressure guage. then look for electrical faults.

yeah mate same thing happens with me!? does this happen when you go around corners??
you might also find that u blow heaps of white smoke out in high revs well thats me anyway im goin to fix it with an engine rebuild these holidays i think!
