well i had my first night out tonight cars pretty stock
only had SRI intake. set my coilovers stiff on the rear and deflated the front tyres a little.
i ran a 15.8@87.1mph w/ 2.3 60ft. Probably no where near a good time but i just wanted something to reference before i started modding.

15.8 with 2.3 60ft.
street tyres with 2mm tread. -2.2 degrees camber.
Stock motor with stock airbox exhaust and headers.

Full street trim + extra weights - xbar, front 3pt strut brace, 12"sub (pretty light) and amp.
And my seats are leather.

4500rpm dump i think, with pretty warmed up tyres. 3/4 slip then full throttle. Flat shift to 3rd only.
1/2 tank of fuel.

hope thats enough info of what a stock vtir can do.
=]

Only did the run for comparison when i run with i/h/e.

My old DC2 ran a best of 15.3
Held the hand brake and riding the clutch at 3.5k to 4k revs

MODS: Axle back twinloop, standard airbox lid taken off

street tyres, slicks or semi slicks: Camber worn Maxxis tyres

stripped or not stripped out: NON stripped

A while back in late 2008 i went to a ozhonda meetup at wsid and ran my mates integra vtir for him, car was bone stock, and my friend actually forgot to run 98 octane and had put 91 in it.... The car was in full trim plus had his work eskie and heaps of other stuff in it, not even spare tyre removed
Car has half a tank of fuel and im about 90kgs
First 2 runs where shit as both runs i missed a gear for each and ran a 15.8 then a 15.7
Last run i managed to get all gears in with an ok luanch 2.35 sixty footer and done a 15.4@91mph.... Was bit dissapointed becoz i didnt get any other runs and on my first run i got a 2.300 sicty footer but then went from 2nd gear into 5th, and still done a 15.8

I reckon that night if i removed the spare tyre and rear seats and excess weight and had 98 ron, i could have managed a 15.0 no problems

Tyres were shit with 18psi in fronts
Stock suspension
6000rpm luanch ridng the clutch out a bit then jumping on the throttle quick

A good bone stock vtir with low psi in tyres and high rpm good luanches can easily manage low 15's

Regular cai to guard.
5 Zigen 4-2-1
Highflow Cat
2.25 catback with a huge muffler.

Ill take off the muffler next time.

Might go out to the next one me thinks.

Might i add.

Tyre pressures is a big factor.

I ran 34psi all round when i ran 15.8

With 20 in the front and 40 in the rear, you should be able to run quicker times.
Along with any big rocks in your tyre tread. Remove it if you have the time.

This really only effects smaller tyres tho. I.e: 15"

The only advantage I got was a flatter contact patch because the tyre didnt bubble at the bottom with my 17's.

All in the launch imo.

If you can't launch for shit then your time will be shit.

Also dont panic!

LOL.

First run ever. Tried to copy the fully sick pro burnouts. Swaying the front side to side with e brake up. (really wasnt that hard) But with torque steer, if you dont hold the steering wheel it pulls the steering wheel to one side.

Silly me. My heart beating. People watching. Dude gives the signal for a burnout.

Spun the wheels. And my hand let go of the wheel. Car veers to the left and nearly hits the middle island thing where it seperates the 2 lanes. and there i am. All shaken with my foot still on the pedal, clutched in. Rev bouncing. And people lookin at me like .. wtf? LOL

So with shame. I staged up.
Rainbow lights go to green. Launched. Bogged and went.
Shifted 2nd. Crunched. -.-"

Lesson learnt. Hold the steering wheel really tight or use 2 hands.

Oh and i ran stockies 15" so the tyre pressure applies =D

And might i add another thing lol -.-"
Reason i bogged on launch. For the first timers. Its not pavement there. Probably is under 3inches of rubber. (exxageration).
But it really grips compared to tarmac where the wheels spin freely.
4grand rev dump 3/4 clutch engagement n it bogged.

And yes. Its all about the launch. =]

whoa is it safe to pre-load at 7000rpm? Seems kind of harsh :p hahah I'm a lil girl and just dump the clutch at around 3500rpm :p weak launch ftw! :D

lol nope not safe... you'll just wear out your clutch aabit lol

take a risk and try it.. you wont regret it!

i used to get 15.0, 15.1 launching at about 5500 - 6000

and ever since launching at 7k rpm.. got into the 14s with ease!!

if the car boggs... next try.. rev higher! lol YBOOST gave me that advice and it works

its hard to just pluck out a number. when mine was b18c i launched at 6000 and 6500rpm pre-loading the clutch on toyo street tyres @18psi. got 13.9 and 2.0/2.1 60ft.
just gotta practice, my theory is keep it in vtec off launch and if it boggs rev harder next run.

With my old DC2 I ran the following

95 DC2 B18C2
5zigen headers
Injen intake
High flow cat + custom 2.25 cat back
Exedy HD Organic
Spoon Flywheel
Hondata s200

Toyo T1R
Full street trim

Zero experience at the track. Only did 9 or so runs but my times were roughly:

15.8
15.6
15.2
15.2
14.8
14.7
15.0

Launching at roughly 4000rpm. With more experience I was confident I could run her at 14.7 each run. I'm sure if you put a skinny guy in it (I'm 85KG) and stripped it she should be good for low 14's.

Not very fast considering the mods. I think this is the main reason why I will go JDM B18CR in my EG when time comes around. B18C2 is nice, but not crazy enough.

Sounded (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbROW7eR-1U) awesome though.

brb roids

If you find yourself beefing up too much from the protein and roids.

Just turbo your car. GT35R to start with and go from there.

You can roid rage all over the road and just blame it on "torque steer". :)
