Hi guys,

Im a long time ozhonda user but i've forgotten my old login password.

Anyway, a bit of background: I have owned a 94 vti accord auto for the last ~5 years and a few weeks ago I had an accident and it was written off (very minor accident btw).

So i've been carless for a little while now, BUT there is a family friend who is selling a 1996 vti-r civic manual which has only done 70,000k's. Obviously it is going to cost more than I got from insurance, can anyone give a rough idea on what to expect to pay? I've had a look online but most cars are modded (the one im talking about is completely stock) and have much higher km's.

So im really only thinking about having this car for about a 3 year period if all things go to plan. Can someone take a stab in the dark as to what it might be worth in that time with say... 140000km's?

Apologies for a boring thread, oh and wish me luck leaning manual :p

depending on colour, usually go for around $7-10k at the moment
i wouldn't expect it to drop much from there, it's done most of it's depreciation already
have to remember by then it'll be over 15 years old

Ok thanks guys.

I had a look on carsales and most of the cars are $11-13k roughly and with much higher km's, so i thought it would be worth a bit more than $7-10k but i guess not!

yeah with 70k on it would be between that $11-13k mark. civics have great resale value.

Green is very common for the EK. Generally enthusiasts want to be 'different', hence the price difference.

Of course alot of the resale value will be dependent on overall condition of the vehicle too (engine, inside and out)!

Take mine for example - 1996 RED EK4: 215,000klms, paint just beginning to fade. For those 2x reasons alone i'm going to see no more than $7k i reckon. Even though it runs great. never skipped a beat and is in FAR better than roadworthy condition, interior is in great condition, but the klms and a bit of the cursed 'milano pink' evident means it's worth far less than some of the 'less used' examples.

In conclusion: Honda's hold their value very well. If you're going to get it at a reasonable price - go for it!

Green doesn't look that great either. Normally black/white ones fetch more.

Its a relatively old car by now. If the kms are genuine and the condition of the car reflects this, I'd pay $8k (assuming I had the money =P).

no love for the cypress green :( :p lol jks jks

red, white, yellow and black will always do better for sales (red depends on the buyer as Milano red is hard to maintain, fades like a mofo...)
