2 components inside your distributor that control the spark to the plugs.

1.ICM=ignition control module(the interface between the ECU & the coil for "control" of spark)

2.Coil (for producing the "size" of the spark)

if your cars not starting,ie no spark,then chances are one of these is faulty.

be warned,make sure u have good working ICM before just throwing new coils at the problem,a bad ICM can blow the coil if it failed in a certain manner.
