Hi Guys,

Not sure if this has been covered..

But WTF?

Example..

Floormats for My Euro..
- Black Carpet.

- Tynans Honda Sutherland = $181.00
- Collins Honda Rockdale = $165.00
- City Honda in Mascot = $155.00

Shouldn't these pricks all be the same? it's all the same part, and all come from the same warehouse in Melbourne!

So buying OEM parts people, best shopping around from other dealerships!

and p.s, they wont even price match their own company outlets!

(Lesson learnt from the past, Anything Tynan's, keep the hell away from, always too pricey, and always a pain to deal with.. especially Subaru parts)

Dealers have always been like that.

Coles sells Coke at a different price to Woolies. And the Coke comes from the same warehouse. Each dealer is an individual business, hence they can charge different market price. Same for your cars. RRP is a recommended retail price, so dealers can charge any amount they want since the RRP is only a recommendation.

Oh, and you can find some prices from dealers in this thread: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102824

I get the coles and woolies thing.. but it's the wrong concept dude..

In this scenario.. it's Coke , Selling Coke, made by Coke, from a Coke shop, where 3 shops within 15k's of eachother are jamming their own prices..

this is what i'm not agreeing with.. especially, one of the dealers taking the liberty of jacking the price by almost $30.00

When I asked him why they are $180 and not $155 like Mascot...

response "eerr... Not sure.. maybe they didn't include GST"

Felt like telling the guy "still doesn't mathematically add up you tool bag, even if that was the case"

It's all from profitability to the sales the dealer gets and area specific too.
i reckon.

Well while i'm here..

Hey Crapdaz.. to install the mats, most cars have hooks to hold them in place?

I have an 03 Euro Luxury... and can't see any hooks? do the mats just sit there on there own? or are the hooks hidden under the carpet or something? or no hooks at all?

mats never had hooks.
they are in the shape of the floor and have rubber bottoms so they don't move.

I don't have problems with my mats moving only thing is the plastic ones i have move like sh1ts

The hook is on the floor really close to the driver's seat, in the middle horizontally.

My car has a single hook on the driver's side. It's an 05 luxury.

My parent's Euro also has a driver's side hook (I think there may even be two), and it's an 03 luxury.

None of the other mats have hooks to hold them though.

Maybe your lack of hooks is just bad luck!

Also, not sure if it helps for the CL9, but I read in a CU2 thread that you can cut out a bit of the carpet in the floor to "reveal" the hooks for the mats.

Maybe you should feel around on the floor in the area I described for the hooks? (don't go cutting the carpet randomly though LOL)

As for the floor mats peeps,

I just got them, they come with special hooks and instructions on how to install them.. and yep.. does involve cutting the carpet.. just not randomly though! lol

Dealers are not part of Honda Australia. So they are not the equivalent of "coke shops" in your example. Each dealer sells Honda cars, but they are not a subsidary of Honda Australia. They are franchisees. They are equivalent to Coles and Woolies, because they can sell other brands, not only Honda.

An example would be Rick Damelian. They are one of the biggest Honda dealers, but they are also a Citroen and Alfa Romeo dealer.

One plus side is since they can jack the price up, they can lower the price as well. So if they use the excuse that the price cannot go lower because Honda Australia says it is the minimum, it is BS. :p

tell them it's bullsh1t too.....walk in to the dealer and chuck a tantrum on the ground kicking and screaming to get your way;

I'm sure they'll give you it for cheaper.

It does kinda suck that there isnt a set mark-up for all parts etc that they buy from Honda. Means you have to shop around for a good deal...

Take a gun. They'll listen. Mind though, you might be mistaken for a bikie.

What? And have no competition. That would run foul of the Tad Practically-useless Act.
