View Full Version : [CL9] 2008 Modulo lip kit on 2006 lux with the facelift front bar

17-04-2009, 12:40 PM
Hi, I'd made up my mind that now i wanted to add the modulo lip kits onto my 2006 lux[with facelift front]. I'm just curious of how many difference modulo kits there have? The reason being is that i'd went to honda to have a look @ the lip under spoiler set, they checked from my VIN, they come up that my car is classify in the first gen.
I'd my friend euro[2008] parked next to my car like front to front for comparing. I cant identify any difference as in shape or body style.
Here is what i dont understand of how the dealer said if i get the lip under spoiler [i assume that's what we called modulo lip kit in AUD], IT WONT FIT, as i've difference body to the 2008 [eventhrough i didnt see any difference in between mine to 2008 model]
My question here are:
1.As far as i'd been told by salesman @ honda, he said, each year, the lip kits come in slightly difference styles. So how many difference lip kits do we have here? [suppose to be 3 generation, but seem like he said it's different every year]
2.If i get the 2008 lip kit[same as .QD & xsite85], will it fit in my car or do i need any modification?
Can anyone please suggest me how much do i expect to pay for?
THankz for all urs help , cheers....

from what i understand the 2006+ are the facelift models and there's only 1 type of modulo kit for them?

from what i understand the 2006+ are the facelift models and there's only 1 type of modulo kit for them?
That what I thought too but when I went in about 3-4 dealers, they checks my VIN, they came up with the lip kit which I'm sure it's for first gen.
I asked for modulo lip kit, they all don't know about it. So yes, I'm so lost after they said there is only one kit which suit 2003-2006, but from my understanding 2003-2005 r first gen while 2006-2008 r second gen
Can anyone here help correct this?

simple fix.
post a pic of your car and we can tell you what year it is and whether the modulo will fit

you might have old stock like a MY05 version that you bought in 2006, but yea post up a pic, it's pretty easy to distinguish between pre-facelift and facelift versions

100% that is an 06+ model
100% this modulo kit will fit:
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/5952/newp.jpg
ignore what the dealership is saying, take the picture in and say this is what I want.
if they went off vin, they probably found it was a late 05 model and then classified it as a pre-facelift.
late 05 models are technically classified as 06 models.
seeing as they are a dealership, and they can't tell the diff between the two, they must be struggling..

17-04-2009, 09:38 PM
Yes, like I told them too, but they said the accessories r same between 2003-2006, they said the modulo won't fit mine as it's for 2008. I actually have pic of the kit, they were sending me on email too. I'll post it's shortly
power_of_dreams
17-04-2009, 09:40 PM
there is no difference between 06 and 08.
the modulo can fit both.

That are the pic from email, Honda said those are the one for mine. I definately sure it's for 2003-2005 but not for mine.
Someone here help, 3 dealers said n mail me same kit!!!
power_of_dreams
17-04-2009, 10:01 PM
that kit from the email is for the 03-05.
if the pic you posted of your "car" is actually your car, then the modulo kit will fit. no need to worry
I find it hard to beleive 3 dealerships can't tell the difference between the facelift and non-facelift.
Or perhaps there is a deeper issue?
Yeah dude, 06-08 CL9 is the same. Is your car black or gray?
oat.iphone
17-04-2009, 10:11 PM
Yes it's my car, god damn I'm lost myself too when I was talking to them, was close to make 800 payment for side skirt+rear, luckily I asked them to mail me the kit's pic to confirm, then find out I'm wasting my whole week as they not the one for me.(eventhrough they said they databases check my VIN.
I really don't know why all3 hobda can't get this. Anyway anyone know hoelw much for modulo kit, advise me the right Honda, who well trained n know what's modulo kit
Thank

My car is graphite pearl, thank
power_of_dreams

your car looks graphite pearl by those pictures.
all honda dealerships should know what you are talking about.
I'm beginning to get sus with your vin.

17-04-2009, 10:58 PM
My vin? what u meant by that? sorry dont understand its
Anyway i can spot weird things on here,
if u look carefully in this pic, Http://s643.photobucket.com/albums/u...nt=photo-2.jpg , on the top blue line, where it say, ACCORD EURO 2003-2006 accessories...
this is not right, as it is
2003-2005 = meant to be sharing same accessories + body kits
2006-2008 = meant to be sharing same accessories + body kits
but on there from what i assume, 3 honda, i was talking to, they think the first gen kit can fit onto my 2006, which it isnt truth
now u see what i meant
Darkii_
18-04-2009, 11:29 AM
Just say i want a modulo kit for an 07 accord euro and see what they say lol. Then there should be no mistakes
From those pics that's 100% a facelift front you have

whats weird is from your pictures the rear tail lights dont look tinted.

it's not the same car anyway?
the graphite one is his, not sure what's the deal with the black car.
oat.iphone
18-04-2009, 04:49 PM
The black one wasn't mine, haven't delete it yet, anyway I went into peter warren spares parts, now I bring the modulo kit pic, I clearly stated I wanted modulo lip kit 2006, now all 3 salemens don't even know what is modulo kit, again they showed me the picture of the kit which in their database for second gen series, but GOD, they are exactly same as the first gen kit( same pic I post here)
They said the pic is for illusional as guideline, the actual kit may look difference , I asked them if I could c the actual kit, they said NO, I asked what if I buy it, then it wasn't right onrle, can I refund its, they say NO
Can someone tell me, what is going on with Honda?
power_of_dreams
18-04-2009, 05:04 PM
funny story.
it's like they don't want to sell it to you.
oat.iphone
18-04-2009, 06:17 PM
really no idea here, one sure thing is, Honda use the same picture of accessories in their database.
I even show them the accessories brochure to clarify my point, they said the kit in my brochure don't look the same as in their system.
Another dealer @ rick damilian said, modulo only make for European spec, there is only one modulo kit, they have here but that's for civic
Can someone here point me out the right Honda branch to deal with, I'm already wasted my whole week contacted all these hopeless salemen who weren't well trained n don't even know their job properly.
power_of_dreams
18-04-2009, 06:31 PM
I can only assume they are not familiar with the kit, which is pretty rediculous imo

wats ur vin number?? thats the only way ur gonna be sure.
even easier, u vin should be JHMCL9XXXXCXXXXXX
the bold bit should be a 6C. if its a 5C then someone has swapped front bars on ur car.

hes got 06 headlights as well though.
eg_08_wa
18-04-2009, 07:11 PM
that makes sense, cuz if you want to put and 06 front bar, you need head lights and bonnet. go check ur vin. if it is 6C it will fit. if not, it still will fit cuz you've got 06 front bar.
oat.iphone
18-04-2009, 07:17 PM
It's 6c dude, my issue here is, all 3 Honda said 2003-2006 is using same kit, as the pic from email I posted here.
The fact is 2003-2005 is first gen, whereas my car 2006-2008 is second gen, so I should be buying the kit for second gen, but when I asked them to show me the kits pic, it isn't any difference between the 1st n 2nd gen.
So now i'm kind of lost n thinking if I should get mugen replica instead but I need fog light on hence it tough choice. That's reason I'm trying to get modulo lip kit. I don't know y is it so hard for me to get it's while for others it's easy
oat.iphone
18-04-2009, 07:20 PM
The main problem is all 3 Honda I'd been through don't seem to know, the modulo kit.
power_of_dreams
18-04-2009, 07:35 PM
all i can suggest is take it to other dealerships. if they don't know what you are talking about, it's their loss.
forget telling them what model or year you have, just take the picture in and say I want this kit.
oat.iphone
18-04-2009, 07:50 PM
I did this today @ peter warren, I even show them 2007 accessories book, they looked up into their database, saying it look difference to the book( from their comp, look like it's the kit for 1st gen)
They said that's what come up when they search for 2007 lip under spoiler set.
oat.iphone
18-04-2009, 07:54 PM
I guess Honda all use same network database, as I later email the modulo kit to rick damilian n co crawford, they end up email me the kit spec for 2007, again it's the same pic as I saw @ peter warren(also same as what I post on this thread first page)
Now pls tell me how can I get the modulo lip kit for my car
Well... I had a brochure for the Euro accessories and it's there. Don't know why its so difficult. Try Larke Hoskins in Homebush.

yupz think i'll try them this monday, u know it's very hard to go into honda, wont be able to see the actual item except just little tiny picture on their screen
this is bad
anyway .QD, u still have the reciept of the lip kits, i wanted to see if the part number will match, as i'd got quote from them but when they actually email me its pic, found out to be first gen kit
thank u
p.s : if u dont mind me asking, which dealer u buy urs from, how much?

I have a full modulo kit, the part number for the front lip is 08F01SEAL14, rear is 08F03SEAL14, skirts 08F04SEAL14
The instructions have a different but similiar part number after the SEA**, dunno why.
Kit was around $2K, back in november 08.

which kit u have on ur car, power of dreams?
My kit was installed when I got my car. Was quoted $2500 (could have got Mugen at the time for the same price). From Trivett.

Ahh yea that makes sense, oh and my price was parts only.
oat.iphone
19-04-2009, 01:00 PM
i doubt it was the color code dude, this is the parts i'd got quote, they said it's the only kits they have for series two accord euro [2006-2008]
08F03SEA740B = RR UNDER SPLR*NH-58P
08F04SEA740B = SIDE SKIRT*NH-58P
08F01SEAL13 = FR UND SPLR*NH-58P
sorry for the cap but that's what i got quoted from honda, i agree to viper8548, the parts number were identical except SEA.
anyway i was told, the NH-58P was stand for color coded
after spending a night in front of my comp, i decided to go to SG honda forum, seen alots of people up there having the euro R full lip set goes for 500 SG dollors [equipvalent to about 470 AUD dollars]
the problem is i dont know if i can trust those singaporean, i've never known for goods?
power_of_dreams
19-04-2009, 01:36 PM
yes you are right, the NH-58P is the color.
I'm not sure why its different then..
oat.iphone
19-04-2009, 01:52 PM
seem everything is right except the part number after SEA, can anyone here state what is the difference between L13[740B] to L14
i was thinking if it's the same part but the number after SEA was just the color code, then i would b getting sideskirt+rear for 863 deliver, while i get the euro R front lip from OS for 300 deliver
what do we think?

19-04-2009, 06:37 PM

what color is ur car? thinking could it be the color code as power of dream stated?

20-04-2009, 02:26 AM
supersession is just honda changing the part, and adjusts the part number accordingly. ie, the part that was once made in japan, now made in aust will have a new part number, or part that once came painted but now comes unpainted will have a new part number. its only the last 3 digits that change.
someone correct me if im wrong.

Does it really matter, just call the dealer quoting the part number and tell them you want graphite, then decide if you want to buy it after the price quote.

20-04-2009, 10:35 AM
yup, after i called 2 honda now, homebush seem to know straight of what is modulo kit, they quoted me 3.8k for its which is quite ridiculous[i could get geniue mugen for this price]
whereas rick damilian said, the side+rear still able to be source while the front, they dont make its anymore, so i asked if i could get the euro R front, they said again it's for 2007 model, they doubt it'll fit my car
why is its so much of the headache for me just trying to get my modulo kit...
Darkii_
20-04-2009, 11:37 AM
What are you looking to pay for the kit? of course most honda parts from them are overpriced etc. You're prob better off looking for a 2nd set if you aren't willing to pay an arm and a leg.
I doubt they know what a euro-r front is if they can't even help you with the minor things, but the sports/limited edition from is available from them which is the same as the 06+ euro-r.
The sports lip will fit 06-08 CL9, which i believe you have. The front of the 06-08 is the same so it wouldn't matter if you have an 06 the 07 will still fit. The quote for the sports front lip itself is ~$880 as of last month. I haven't called up and checked recently, but the modulo i got quoted $550 unpainted for it.
It seems like you're either asking the wrong questions or dealers in nsw really have no idea the euro accessories, as i had no problem getting quotes from the 4 dealers in my area in qld.
I was informed the parts come from Melbourne, so if one dealer can get them i don't understand why the other one can't too.
oat.iphone
20-04-2009, 12:35 PM
yes darkii, seem like we have same problem, they said the same thing that the kits will be source from melbourne too for the front[i'd got quote 451 painted], whereas for the side+rear, got quoted 800 painted, for the front euro R, i'd got quoted 728 painted
the issue here is that, they doubt this will fit my car as they classify my car accessories as in first gen [2003-2006] in their hondaone database
i don't understand y cant honda train their staff well, most dealer i called, they dont even know what's modulo or what's euro R
Darkii_
20-04-2009, 03:20 PM
lol it's reasonable that they don't know what a euro R is as it wasn't brought over here, however the modulo kit is a bit :S
did you try asking for the accessory bodykit for the 06 or whatever model you have. Maybe they go by that instead of modulo. btw my bodykit box had Honda Access on it i think. The price you got quoted sounds about right lol, i dont know how you add 451+800 to be 3.8k
Ill buy the mugen... you can buy my modulo. :), Tell Larke Hoskins Homebush to give you trade discount...

Darkii, 3.8k was quoted this morning by homebush while the other figure were quoted last week by difference honda

most to all honda dealerships have no idea what a euro r is purely because it was never available here. the closest we got was the euro sports. only thing diff between that and the r is the engine and interior. the body kit is still the same, so had u had said u wanted a euro sports kit, they would have given you the information you needed.
Also, honda is the "high end" of the japanese market, so yes their prices are high. so unless ur a die hard honda fan. get aftermarket :)

So can someone here tell me how many type of skirt n rear lip we have just for standard kit accessories ?
Althrough the skirt n rear lip I'm after is the modulo one, just I dunno how to explain to them
08F03SEA740B rear lip
08F04SEAL13 side skirt
Those two r what they quoted me as my accessories kit, can someone here confirm if these r the modulo side - rear kit

Darkii, read my post properly buddy, i'd mention that i wanted front euro R lip together with modulo side skirt + rear lip. As i thought this will turn out very impressive for my euro. I'd got offered for 1.6k supplied-painted-fitted for replica MG kits, as well as offered for 863 = 06 accessories side skirts + rear lip, both painted[hope this will be the same one as modulo parts, someone correct me again please]
While for the front euro R lip, i'm thinking if i could fit this to my 06 lux, i meant if i could just add the lip on top of my facelift front bar, have anyone with these experience can help me out? do i need to modify anything like eg. remove fog light cover before i install the euro R lip ?
Between the euro R front lip cost me 727 painted, so now i'm tosing neither replica MG kit or combination of honda lip kits to goes onto my car
State, if anyone here could point me out the place whereas they have any of these parts on sale for cheaper[wouldnt mind second hand or respray if it is worth going for]. Together with the euro R front grille set, i would be real appreciated for ur help
So yes, please help out ur noob member here...!! =]

bump to the old thread!
just asking guys whether the modulo kit for the 06's is a lip kit or bumper? do they just latch on the stock rear bumper or the whole thing needs to be taken off?
asking because considering whether i should buy a euro with parking sensors/no parking sensors if i'm planning to put the modulo on? (no point getting parking sensors if its gonna be removed)
just making sure!
