DC5 Facelift conversion

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum and am currently looking to buy a DC5 Integra Luxury. I really like the look of the facelift 04-06 over the pre facelift. I was just wondering, instead of spending about 22k on getting the newer model if I could buy the pre facelift for like 16k and fit the parts of the facelift model? Are they the same dimensions? Would all I need is the front bar, headlights, grill and can i change the tail lights without changing the rear bar? Would this all fit straight on without any modification? Also how much would this cost me and would it be worth it buying the cheaper, older model?

Help would be much appreciated!

You need the following to change :

Front :

Headlights
Headlight wiring
Headlight bracket ( can modify the stock one to fit )
Front bar
Grill


Rear -

Tail lights
Tail light brackets
Rear bar

You might be able to get the parts cheap 2nd hand if you are lucky, and I do mean lucky.

Otherwise new from Honda is going to cost you an arm and a leg.

Better off getting the facelift base model, it'll end up costing you more then the differance between the two cars.

It'll be more of a matter of finding the parts. I was going to do this to my DC5R before I got it resprayed, but i could never find the parts 2nd hand... and wasn't interested in going back to Honda to get prices for them.

But if you do it right, getting the parts, shipping, fitting, respraying my guess would be around the $3k-4k mark...

But its not the money side that well be the problem, it'll be finding those parts.

Lol, Tony and 45ET, dont join the rest of the sheep boys... everyone debating DC2 vs DC5, now ur throwing DC5R vs DC5S in the mix... its all a matter of personal opinion and taste, we all buy the cars we want for a reason right? Who cares about what everyone else thinks, unless u wanna follow like sheep.

Back to the topic tho, Julie, it might be a good idea, while you are researching parts, prices and whatnot, get friendly with a panelbeater (not 2 friendly:p), let them know your plans, and see what they can do to steer you on the right path and even save u some $.
