Headunit decision

very simple.
i am picking up a new headunit when mr rudd buys my vote and am stuck as to which one to get.
i have narrowed it down to these 2:

please dont suggest any others...i have looked at what else there is and what prices they are and the only other one that fits what i need is a pioneer one for around $500 and i have other commitments for bits of the rudd money and dont want to spend that much. plus i currently have a pioneer headunit and hate the user interface.

why not getting the alpine 9886 if u have low budget.. or top up a bit and grab 9887.. anyway.. for long term use.. it is good to use a better 1.. =)

I have Alpine 9887 in my car... has this thing called imprint sound... to use it u need to go to alpine dealer and they will tune it for u....

If your budget can allow a slight stretch i would go the Alpine 9886. If you wanna go all out and spend the whole amount, i would look at getting the Eclipse CD-7200MKII. I first started with the CDA-9851 ($550.00) had that for two years then changed it to a CDA-9855R (RRP $899) and now looking at this Eclipse top of the line unit. I would do it right the first time as you'll save some $$$ in the long run.

Theres a fairly big difference in price between the two options, going by the prices on the links.
But i'd JVC if its just two options, it looks a bit more better IMO rather than the Sony.

o ok, normally an Alpine head unit guy and didnt see it on the Australian website. any reason as to why you go rid of it? for that price i would have thought along the lines of the Pioneer reference bundle or for slightly less the Clarion HX-D2. What did this eclipse unit have on top of its competition?

becoz i change to Mcintosh MX5000 + MDA5000.. which sound nicer for me.. anyway.. P90RS and HX-D2 is a good deck as well.. and the Legendary vocal HU Alpine 7990.. =)
