gear knob

hello, guys.
i just get a 06 accord euro automatic gear knob from my friend.
and i was very happy, cuz i always like the design.
but.....here is a problem, im not sure it fit my 04 euro or not.
consider the information dealer given, they have different part number.
did anyone try to fit 06 gear knob to a 04 euro?

the most important thing............i dont know how to take the old one out.
does anyone DIY before? or has some kind of instruction book?

PS: its the plastic and the boot give my problem...........

I think if you search gear knob in the euro section you'll find a very old post detailing how to take the plastic surround off, i did mine awhile back and it basically involves a lot of painful pulling hoping the plastic doesn't break lol. Ended up getting mine off good, never taken it off again =p

very easy, can do in 10 minutes
read Rein's thread first, and search around

put your car in D or D3 with handbrake on
you need to pry the plastic cover around your old stick off... if you have seat heaters you can detach, or just leave them in and put it to the side.
next, unscrew the two screws at the front of the stick (towards front of vehicle). you can now pull the stick right off; it is attached to the leather and slides off the metal underneath
pry off the cluster with your hands, it just pops out
there is a little wire attached to it, have a look at the underside of the cluster- you just rotate the little piece of plastic and it comes out. its a little light thingy that does nothing
then you should be able to swap your new one in place, screws and everything
then just put your plastic cover back on, with seat heaters

i tried to take off, but i think i break it a little be already.........
so.......thats why i can keep doing it.......i dont know whats gonna happen.

Most of Honda panels feels like they will break but need a bit more force.
Just make sure pick up the clips they might fall off when you do it.
