Squeaky Brakes + Fuses

Ok couple things; yes i know we've all been over the squeeky brake problem but as of 2 minutes ago and talking to my honda service centre (Toowong - Bris), they've got the go-ahead from Honda Australia and are awaiting parts to come so that they can change my brake pads and rotors over to new ones so anyone experiencing the same problem please dont hesitate to contact your local service centre and ask them to fix it for you free of charge!

secondly, after blowing the rear licence plate and rear light fuse on my car it got me thinking - the inside fuse box; does it matter which way the fuse reads? so it could be a 20amp fuse and looking at it straight on - does it matter if the 2 is on top (so look at it from the left) or the 2 on the bottom (look at it from the rhs)

luckily i had another car there so i could check and do mine properly so yeah :)

Easiest way is to look at the other fuses and they should be facing the same way. Thats the easiest way imo. But i've never actually tried putting them in the other way. Technically it shouldn't really matter because it acts as a cutoff if overload occurs. (Correct me if i'm wrong tho =])

Fuses are non-directional. You can put it in either orientation.

oh rly? thats good, i had another fd there when i had to change my fuse and just put it in same-direction but good to know either orientation is fine!

i think i just blew my fuse for the interior dome lights/boot lights.. when replacing a fuse, do we just look at like the colour of the fuse that is broken? and then buy a fuse of the same colour?.. or how do u distinguish between fuses lol

how the hell do we get to the fuse box lol =/..and which side of the fuse box would i be looking at? =/

well.. generally they are sorted by color.. but if u remove the fuse.. it should have a number?.. generally telling you how much current the fuse can handle..
read your manual.. it all should be there..
the fuse is just a small wire which snaps when it overloads.. =).. i personally think its such a great invention.. so simple..and yet it saves so much money for us..

There are two fuse boxes in the FD, one in the engine bay and one on the right hand side of the driver side (underneath the steering wheel and dash near the accelerator pedal). Most of the lighting fuses are in the driver side fuse. Just look at the number and replace it with the same one. Btw there should be spare fuses and a "peg" on the cover of the fuse box in the engine bay so don't buy anything just yet.

+1 to fallen.. :

1. Pop bonet and latch it up
2. Undo clips on under-bonet fuse box
3. Look on the inside of the lid and there's a fuse puller + 5,7.5,10,15,20 amp spare fuses
4. Then use fuse puller on whichever fuse you think is broken - and see if infact its dead if so change it over
5. Afterwards - remember whenever your free to go and buy spare fuse(s) to replace the one you used
6. Replace fuse puller into under-bonnet fuse box and close box, making sure it clips into place.

Fuse blowing seems to be a common thing with the FDs
My mate's VTI-L had a blown fuse and couldn't even start up the car.

Already done this on our civic. Haven't driven it much lately ...around 250Klms max (in last 2 months) as am driving another car atm. So I cannot say if it's fixed the problem with brake squeal.

I suspect it's pads though. If it comes back I'll put in some bendix pads.

Service centre called me up today and said that the parts are in so wednesday im booked in for them to change pads,rotors+calipers to new :)
