Gotta be careful swapping the seats. The new ones need to have the same airbags in the same places for them to be legal.

Or you can just ignore the law like I think I'll eventually end up doing with seats :p

Did you know the seats have side airbag assembly attached to the seat?

Integral90 - in regards to your words, even if you touch the seat you have to get it engineered, and seats must be ADR approved.

oh i wasn't aware of that airbag assembly component.. I am new when it comes to cars..

I was initially looking for something like Civic Type R seats.. I was fancied by the red/black leather looks for seats.. thats what I'm trying to get..

FN2 Civic Type R seats have side airbags. Maybe look at those. You will probably need some custom rails though.

You reckon they'd weigh much less than the lux Euro seats? I'd like to be able to save 20kg from swapping both seats :)

Doubt it. To save weight, you need fibreglass or CF backing seats.

The lux Euro passenger seat weighs just under 25kg and I'm assuming the driver's side one weighs around 30kg...

You seriously think the FN2R seats combined weight would be more than 35kg? So heavy :(

I am also looking for something similar in the second row..

I know for a fact its not something that can be easily done.. but i need some suggestions on where/who can do these mods??!?!

Just retrim your seats?

You do NOT need to get seats engineered IF the existing rails can be bolted straight on. If there needs to be adjustments/additions to the framework for your original rails to bolt back on then you need an Engineers certificate.

Why the hassle of getting different seats when you can just get your seats re trimmed?

Is the DC5 type S leather seat able to use in EURO? Has it got a side air bag in the DC5 type S leather seat?

Nope, I don't think the FD2R seats have airbags in them. Look at the outer shoulder support. In the FN2R, there is an "SRS Airbag" tag on it like the Euro. But the FD2R doesn't have that tag.

i think passenger seat weighs the same (if not slightly more) than the driver seat due to it having the Occupent Position Detection System in it as opposed to an extra motor...

but yeah, they are damn heavy... its a compromise between staying luxury/safe and going track :p

Driver has the extra motor (which would also mean extra rails) and the lumbar support :p

Whichever is heavy, they're both fat asses. I wouldn't mind some EP3R seats if they have the airbags, they're beautiful!
