What are some EK4 engine conversions? What are the relative costs of the engines and performance of the engines?

ok that question did not make sense.

im guessing you have a ek4 want better power?? if thats your question then i would suggest a b18cr or even a b20/b16a vtec conversion..

the cost would come form 4-6k thats engine running gear alone minus labour and the performance is up to the driver but the engines are great and produce great number depending on what gear you use

if u got an ek4 i was told the b18c engines will fit straight in with minor alterations. not sure about the b20 but im sure it shud be the same case as the b18 as it is also a b series engine. if ur on a budget u cud proly sell ur b16 from ur ek4 and that shud cover the labour done for the conversion, or about half or less of the engine price if ur gonna do it urself.

hope this helps

And as the others have said if yo have an ek4. Well if you were to go jdm b18cr. it will be a straight swap and you will keep your ek4 looms and b18cr ecu will plug straight up to your ek4 looms but you will need to use your b16a mounts and everything else will bolt straight on like powersteering pump and a/c and so on and its also recommended to upgrade your stock radiator well thats what i was told anyway.

K Series wouldn't be as easy to swap.
Plus the K Series Suck Balls! B Series is only 2nd to H Series~!~

K series would be way much more power but also with a big price tag.....be expensive also to get jdm b18cr i think, probably go with B16 top/b20 bottom or altogether go for a h22a, not common though in an ek

h22 will give u a big price tag as the labour to go with the conversion is quite pricey since theres a lot of work to be done. i suggest, if u have a ek4 aka vtir civic get a b18c either from vtir teg or a ITR. thats the easiest way and probably the cheapest way for the conversion. otherwise if money isnt an issue, get a k20 or k24. either way, u will feel a great deal of difference with any of these engine conversions.

hope it helps

Nah I wouldnt go with the VTI-R from the DC2 as its not much performance increase except for that much extra torque...just consider the B18CR with a proper gearbox or B16B as well...but in the end of the day you really need to see the budget before everything else because half the time you will blow your budget. just my 2 cents

dude.

You need to figure out your budget as too what engine and mods you can actually afford. Then call every single shop you can find to get quotes/rough prices. Then research the shops, find the one you're most comfortable with, whether it be price, rep or whatever you want.

The thread I linked has Wreckers and Shops in all the states -> http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113864

good luck man & choose wisely

hmm:

b16a boosted
b20 vtec w/ b16a head
b18c/r

similar pricing for the bare basics, which appeals more ?
