hi guys, i've been reading up on the mini conversions in the previous threads and i was wondering, how much will it cost to do a conversion which includes parts and labour. I just bought a 96 civic vti but i just realised that it has a d16y4 non vtec engine. I intend to send it to the mechanics to do it, so if anybody here in Perth has done it, could fill me in on the details with who and where i should go to get it done =)

Cheers,
Stan

Cheers,

at this stage... i think you should just go for a cheap b16 conversion!

about 3-4k if you know where to get your stuff and installations done...

or u can get a d16y8 or d16a8 (twin cam non vtec ) for about 500-700$ these days and get the conversion done from anywhere around 1k-1.5k

they're just rough estimate... but still in my opinion.. just go for a b16a2 swap... dont bother with mini - me

unless hatch is very unconvenient for you, you should sell your car and get a vtir to start with instead.. less headache

Thanks for the replies guys, really helps out a lot. Yea, i thought of the b16a2 swap but i'm strapped for cash, being a uni student. Does anybody know where i can get a d16y8 conversion done for? I'm sure some guys have had it done before in Perth. I just need a contact. And how much? If it's costs about 1.5k for the whole thing, i'll really consider it.

Thanks agian!

Mini me conversions aren't very common in Australia, they are more of an American thing.

If you wait a little while and save up, you'll be so much happier with a B16 swap.
