Hey guys,
did a few searches and found a few threads about cars not being able to start.
Got a dc5R, this mornin went to start car and it wouldn't start.
No crank what so ever, just a click and nothing more.
Last night car started fine no problems at all.
From what i've read im leaning towards it being the starter motor
but just got a question before taking it to some1.
I have a dvd head unit in my car, and for some reason when i went to start my car this morning, the dvd head unit had reset, like new clock time, default screen background etc. while car wouldn't start
Any suggestions
cheers

Since the dvd head unit has reset (which is most likely due to no power) I'd check your battery first thing.

Battery is below the volts to start the car
Check start motor
Get a new battery

yeah im thinking its the bat too, went to the car, when i try start it the dvd unit will turn on, but when i turn on the headlights, the dvd unit turns off. so i guess battery is raughted?
when i turn on headlights i hear a ticking and checked and its ticking from the headlight fuse. so guess no power to power the shit up?
Any further suggestions.

you have blown a fuse somewhere - possibly from headunit ground or power issue (bad connection)
Check all under dash and engine bay fuses. I bet one fuse is broken - such as the ECU or BACKUP fuse.

Cheers. Will do.
Went to try start car again and now bat has even less power, cant power up headunit either. However took bat out and its on green light and it says its Ok. Not gona buy new bat in mean time, got the bat charging
and i go check fuses now.

yeah batts is dead dude...
but unless you've left something on overnight, batteries especially on a newish car don't just die.. usually the regulator in the alternator is dead too.
- check the battery if its taking a charge (use a battery charger)
- check voltage at battery terminals during idle and revving with all accessories on.... shouldn't really exceed well past 15v... if it does, the regulator is fried and your alternator killed your battery which would make an immediate replacement a waste
