I've searched the forum about five times looking for a thread where someone had the same problem. I've failed to find it so either it's uncommon or im stupid.
I have a 86 civic sedan and in order to install 6x9's in the parcel try i had to remove the seatbelt mechanism that is bolted into the metal on the tray. That was easy. Now the speakers and everything is in i cant put the mechanism back in place because the belts have fully retracted and wont unwind again? I got no idea whats going on. There's two sides of the mechanism that are covered by plastic panels that say "caution do not remove". So, im not going to. I just wanna figure out how the hell to unwind the belts so i can bolt them back onto the parcel tray.
