it's sometimes difficult to start the car in the morning and and 1st suspect is battery. during the last service, i was told my battery has got "70% life" left in it, dont really know what that means. a friend who bought his CL9 in 2003 said he hasn't changed the battery yet and still working till this day  .. i 'm thinking of changing the battery anyway the next service, or am i just wasting money? who has got the battery changed within 3 yrs of ownership?

it depends on the day/time/temp.

Do you turn from straight OFF to ON.
Or do you turn to II let the pump pressurise then when it goes off you switch it on.

I know when i do
"Or do you turn to II let the pump pressurise then when it goes off you switch it on." works everytime.

If it really is your battery going, it should be 14+ V approx, when you ignite when starting should be around 12.
someone correct me i think that's what aaron has said.

Get a multimeter and measure it.

Take the battery to an auto elec or a battery retailer and get them to test it. IF it is the battery Honda will only replace it with the same crap.

Testing the voltage is a good idea BUT if it is slowly dying then it will be the CCA (Cold cranking amps) that will be down and a multimeter will not pick this up. The cca's it whats used to measure the batteries starting capacity.

How old is your battery? If it is a 2004 Euro, it is time to change to a new battery.

If it is struggling to start very badly in the morning, then change to a new battery. Cost you about $130-150 for a Supercharge Gold.

Get a battery with higher CCA.The stock battery is 330CCA.I got a Delcor one with 430CCA and 3 yr.warranty for $108.

Higher CCA will create a faster crank. Get on to something around the 400 mark if it'll fit.

I treated an old 600CCA supercharge battery like crap and it never skipped a beat. It went months without charging in the winter and cranked like a champ - and it was about 5 years old at the time!

Just dont run the standard battery off a large 2 amp stereo... it dont like it =D

Mine is a 2004 model and the battery carked it when i installed the stereo.. was pretty crap... but it got a Exide battery now and its doin me fine with the stereo and all.

Check the voltage of the battery before starting the car
Check the voltage when its started and check to see if it holds charge.
If not, time for a new battery
