I bought a set of wheels online about 3 months ago, and went to get a wheel alignment and balance done. I found out that one wheel is bent, something that was only noticeable when the wheel was put on the spin.
I contacted the person I bought them from, who bought the car from a dealership with these exact rims and swapped them over to something else. According to them, they were unaware of the bent wheel and do not recall any incidents that may have caused it.
Personally, I beleive their word, but even if I didn't I don't really have a case against them. However, do you think I have a case going back to the dealership they bought the car from? Keeping in mind I have no idea how long ago they bought the car, I would say the chances are slim, and the dealership would probably (rightly/wrongly) suggest that the damage occured after the time of purchase. Seriously though, checking for bent rims (especially when they are unnoticeable on the car) is not something alot of people do when purchasing.
Any suggestions?
