B18c2 fuel economy, not infact economical

so in a discussion with one of the members here, i asked how his fuel economy goes.. he said 500-700 on a b16

bear in mind i have a b18c2, with the listed mods, but im getting around 350-400 TOPS per 40L tank..

what is going on? the car is tuned for performance, and granted i drive it hard because i love it, but is this figure correct??
although in saying that, on my euro which was 65L of premium fuel, i was just under 500kms a tank.

figures looks normal to me, im getting 10km\L with a b18c2 with Intake headers and exuast

compare it with a stock integra that has same engine, and see how big's the difference. If ur mods thats drinking ur fuel most of the times, and you want to save more fuel, go for stock parts. b18 still jett-y even though its stock..

if you're really worried about your economy go see a tuner and get them to fix it up for you. i'm pretty sure you can't do this whilst maintaining power tune but some sacrifices have to be made for the love of vtec.

400 is right for a b18c2 tuned for performance and driven hard.

My old DC2 which was heavily modded did 360 if I vtec'd (y0) everywhere.

500KM/40L If you drive like a softcock
450KM/40L Minimal vtec enough to keep the testosterone flowing
400KM/40L Driven hard 90%
360KM/40L vtec y0

Anything under 350 is a bad tune or needs a service.

i dont want to fidel about with the apexi neo controlling the engagement points and air fuel mixes, but it pretty much is set to resemble the power coming from a turbo with a constant gradient upwards.

i'll try chill a bit on the y0'ing, but a retune would be my other option, although more expensive clearly. y0'ing is the only way to drive though SIGH hahah

Fill your tank to the top, and reset your trip meter. Then next time you fill, top it up to the very top and record how many km's you did.

Then how many L's you put in divided by how many k's you did *100.

L/kms*100 = your fuel consumption. You can use that to compare to a stock teg, see how different it is. As accurate of a reading as your going to get too.

try taking it easy as a lead foot will always equal but fuel economy in any car

i know members who get over 700 plus kms out of 38lts
in a b18c

700km from one tank. Acheivable if youre going sydney to wollongong without stopping, braking, (maybe with the help of cruise control) and at a constant road.

400-500 is excellent on a b18c2.

I got 350 on one tank, and that was driving like a granny.

IMO our engines lack down low torque. I mean i t doesnt lack to a point where there is no torque. But im saying. going up just a slight incline. Dont leave it in higher gears. Youll tend to put more load on the engine and pump more fuel.

Shifting at 4 grand nearly everytime ensures me 400 km a tank city/suburban.
Which means its a constant 10l/100km or better.

my mate on his h22 makes better economy than i do. lol

For the last week I have been doing an economy run with my JDM b18c eg to see how much I can squeeze out of 1 tank and I was surprised.
I managed to get 565km using 41L of petrol. This roughly works out to 7.2L/100km. This is absolutely babying it though, the week before I averaged 8.5L/100km driving it normally. When I had my D16 it averaged 7L/100km

Judging from the numbers in your B18C2 as well as your Euro, seems like the problem is all to do with your lead foot.

If you drove it carefully you should get ALOT more than 500km's out of your Euro.
