my speedo doesnt work!!! =O

Change your vss, i had the exact same problem........ Engine light comes on after a while of driving when it realises your speedo aint working.

Pretty easy to change the vss, excpet it cost me $70 for one from the wreckers.
I recommend you follow this DIY first to see if it is your VSS:

Some people tend to do the test and the VSS seems fine, i didnt do the test just replaced it straight away and it worked a charm.
I reckon 90% of the time that your speedo isnt working its because the VSS is dead.

first check any fuse or relays should be under the steering wheel or in the engine bay if they all good check the speedo sensor on the g-box
depending on what vehical it is it shoudl be on the gbox near the outoput
drive its a round sensor with 2 -3 wires you cant miss it

Normally if it's the VSS(vehicle speed sensor) the engine light will come on. Even if the ECM thinks it's OK, it will know because the other sensor values don't make sense as it thinks the car is sitting still.

The problem looks like the cluster, although I haven't seen a cluster go like that without someone mucking around with it.

i had a similar problem on my honda accord. my speedo suddenly just stop working and will work after awhile and i got the engine light comes on my dash.. And mechanic said theres an issue in my transmission. And after the transmission fix its all good. I have an auto accord wagon 94

sorry to hijack

my mates dc2r has this same problem. we just replaced the clutch in it and the problem started. VTEC works fine just no speedo/odometer
have checked the fuses under the steering wheel and the placement of the VSS
what else could it be?

yo i had the same issue, its likely to be the vehicle speed sensor. replace it (apx $70) should do the trick, goodluck

if VSS, everytime u start car its fine and got no engine light etc, except speedo not workin and onceu hit over 50-60km/h engine light should come on, in the service manuals after checkin codes of VSS it says to fix replace VSS OR its a cooked ECU and its rarely a cooked ECU
