Round 3 was held at Wakefield Park last Sunday. Weather was ideal for a sprint round when the early thick fog lifted in the morning

We arrived at Wakefield at 8:30, thinking we are early, but to our surprised everyone is already there, some ppl were there since 7am getting ready. Oh well, next time we'll make sure to be earlier.

After our crap Round 2, losing a lip and sussy failure, we need to make up for it this Round. We spent 1hour on saturday afternoon making a DIY front lip and slipter which turned out pretty decent. Our effort was turn to shits, when a spin on the very frist lap (warm up lap), the rear end kicked out, putting the car into a spin and losing the front slipter. The lip barely survive... :p All was good, a few more rivits fixed it for the day of racing. (thanks to the bettle guy)

Day started out slowly, after missing Run 2 with the TWM quads letting us down due to a missing bolt on the accerlerator linkage made the car a sitting duck in the grass during session 2.

Towards the end of the day, after getting the right tyre pressures, the car easily push low 1:08's laps and one good lap of 1:07.89 to officially confirm our testing time earlier in the year. The team is very satisfy with this result and feels the car can further improve after finding out some minor issues towards the end of the day. Our closest rival Leo in his Toda/Mfactory civic wasnt too far behind with a lap time of 1:08.3. Gota give credit to him as he keep pushing us to go quicker and plus he improve nearly over a second from his last pb.

The end result was a Class Win and new Type and Class Record of 1:07.89 for the BYP Civic

The plan for the next outing at WP is to lap consistent 1:07's and hopefully push into the 1:06's :)

Stay tuned for a short clip

And Lastly, gota thank the usual crew who has helped build and developed the BYP Civic and the EVO boys for lending us a car space.

Is there going to be an investagation into the timing/timer failures/discrepencies that occured that day, as didnt some stock car on stock tyres manage a 106/107 beating you boys and half the field that day after running much slower times all day apart from that lap?

WTF you on about? We are using Dorian timers which are more accurate then last yr which were hand timed.

Slaz for your reference chek out the times
http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?03/05/2009.WAKE.SS

Now which stock cars are you referring to is lapping 106/107 on stock tyres. The only car that come close to your descritption is the Nissan R35 GTR which was on semi' slicks.

Also, which cars are doing quicker times than last year? is it a surpirse to you? maybe they enhance there car to make it go quicker. Have you ever thought about that?

Maybe you should be more smart about it, so are you judging our lap time cause we are 3 second quicker than last year. Aww maybe the new dorian lap system is rigging it for us.

Please dont bring any negativity to our thread. Go have windge elsewhere.

I probably know why your making these accusation, apparently i heard from other sources that Leo recored a 107.7 on his lap timer but the dorian recorded a 1:08.3. Hmmm, go figure?

If your want to check for consistency, check individual lap times and work out why we are doing 1:07's.

Calm down ladies!

Im not taking anything away from your win guys and i wasnt present but i heard that there was a few timing issues on the day and a couple of freak laps that were abit to good to believe and were pulled from the results, the nat soft doesnt show that but then it doesnt show all laps either so asked the question seeing this is the only tread on the day.

Hand timing and the timing system on the day are chalk and cheese as far as im concerned and there isnt any point comparing them when your talking 100th's of a second.

Now you guys go get your self some valli's and have a good weekend. ;)

Congrats on the win.

Hang on guys - Please don't bring me into this...

Dorian is the official timing, so - My take is, only the official times on Natsoft count - Nothing else. - Benson won fair and square - Congrats to Benson on the Win.

Adrian + Leo

p.s Adrian says he hates Telstra as he can't come online - and alot of vulgarities followed...

Individual lap times are up so you can see all the laps that everyone completed. All my laps were recorded consistently comparing to my personal lap timer. Even though i got a few 1:07's, it only recored one 1:07's and some 1:08's even. A few tenths off my personal lap timer is pretty consistent

The Dorian timer is a much more accurate way of measure, as hand timing last year has the human error factor associated. This year, no one can windge or sook as it all controlled by the Dorian timer
