I had mine for 6 months now i believe.

I have 01 model but only done 47,000kms when i got it. Condition was great, it looks as if hasn't been taken out much, my plastic rear window was still crystal clear with the exception of a crease...

Really depends on previous owners and condition. If $ ain't a problem, buy a 2004+ AP2 facelifted versions.

I have noise problem with roof but swapped the strikers around, solved the problem temporary but can buy new one easily for about 50-100buks (i believe?)

everything else is still perfect for me... except clutch noise (only bothers a handful of people - not me) - or maybe haven't done enough K's yet.

But it's just little things that may build up and cost u a lot at the end (if ur a P plater - big problem)... otherwise it drives GREAT.... dont know about your friends who owns one and doesn't recommend it... but i certainly do recommend it!

people wont see you fly in a s2k thats forsure :p they are slow.
most of the time people will sell them because its only a 2 seater with a tiny boot.

yes s2ks are slow, but torque wise they go hard =P

probably within the A Class that honda has to offer.

but yeah dude, you'll get over it when u buy it the 1st month will be the best.

sold mine cos i kinda got over it. it was a bit of a "been there done that" kinda thing

but everyones different. i believe auss2000 bought his brand new in 99 and still has it today

another reason was that there were too many sick kients with them now. kinda ruined the image. at the beginning when i got mine it was like "oh wow. s2k how sexy"

now its like "oh s2k. does it have 20" chromes on it like every hectic kient on the road?"

got put into the hoon catagory and it didnt suit me.

Yea, too many people getting s2k's now its becoming the new P plater car. I had my s2k for about 1 month on my P's hehe :P
But yeap, alot of people without taste are getting them, s2k attracts the wrong kind of attention in aust.

Haha i'm talking about in terms of money... but i guess any p-plater who has a S2k is loaded with cash? I dunno... i def can't afford 1 when i was a P-Plater even if the value was around $30-40k back in 2001...

I'm just middle-class citizen, did my studies, did my uni, got a job, got my toy :)

Sorry off topic...

Yup a bit dissappointing to see... I got this car purely bcoz of the engineering aspects of it with the looks +1.
I remember the 1st or 2nd weekend i got it, i pulled apart my suspension to-get-to-know the car!
Only other car that i would say on the similar level would be RX7 FD (originally my choice) - again that's also too many people getting it and chucking 20's on it and ruining the image... I would get an FD any day still ^^ .

So really, s2k suppose to be enthusiast car to live like the NSX... but it wont with people chucking 20's on. haha...

Yeap, my dream car had been a s15. I've love them since day 1. However with the amount of people getting them and ruining them I decided to go with a S2000. When I got it, I was like the only P plater with one around my area. Now... they all have one haha, and I'm off my Ps

man honestly its hard to explain how s2ks are, better off just get one for yourself and see how it is to your OWN liking. try and modify your car different to everyone else and you will enjoy it more and people will still turn there heads to have a look ;)

To be honest, Young drivers don't understand the concept of owning a decent sports car, regardless the make and model (Obviously with the exception of a few). They all want to buy one. And yet don't understand the costs in repairs/servicing these types of cars. Rather than repairing the car with genuine parts or good performance parts, they'll throw in the cheapest(shittest) parts and wonder why the car is performing poorly or it keeps breaking. I've had a S2K for about 6 years now, and know only too well how much i've had to fork out for repairs and services, let alone on mods. S2000's aren't 200SX's, second hand parts are hard to source let alone expensive. And they won't be any easier or cheaper as time goes by.

s2ks are over rated. i've had mine for 6 months and contemplating whether i should sell it and buy an m3.

buy the new m3! e46 i think it was or e96? i dunno anyway those things are sexy, sound and looks. Even the older ones sound awsome.. whats wrong with people chucking 20's on them lol? I dont have 20's on mine nor do i have chromies on mine but im just curious to why people hate so much lol? I think one problem that might annoy you is if you have a rear plastic window.. kinda gets this crap on it that doesnt come off lol.. Other then that i havent found any problems with my s2000..

Plastic isn't an issue for me; i've got a hardtop. I think everyone's steering away from s2ks due to the fact that they're so affordable now.

F20C
08-05-2009, 01:19 AM
considering their more affordable now, not many people still have them.. i've only seen a few p platers with them in Melb and im the only red p plater with one lol.

what's wrong? first, the constrast of the overall look, the wheels are a bit oversized for a little car and with the unique offset of the s2k, to go 20's, it's big in diameter and SKINNY in width (LOOKS CRAP!). Make the car look like 4WD and handles like crap + scrape on every bump + damage to the rear components. FAIL!

2nd of all, it's a sports car... u want bling bling, buy a Mercedes and some glocks.

i just want one coz of looks havent been in one yet jus thinking about getting one... have my mind set on a eg k20/24 for power

then im the best person to talk to lol..

i owned and built from stock a k24/k20 delsol crx. Yes it has a shit load of power, i loved smashing people with GTR's, ferrari's, Evo's but at the end of the day it just had speed no looks. *only people looked when they knew what it was lol* but the s2000 that i own now is a whole different car its HELL SLOW but u chuck it into a corner and u feel like ur driving a REAL sports car not a toy. ALSO you will be sitting at a set of lights and everyone looks at it cause it looks a million dollars.

S2000's are an amazing car in all aspects top down, very nicely engineered, power up top, AND ITS A HONDA LOL. you basically have to drive one and u will know what i mean. i seen alot of s2000's before finding mine and i drove my one and i fell in love straight away BUT THATS JUST ME.

You really have to drive one for your self to pick if its the car for you.

i sold a 280rwkw s15 (my second one) for an s2k. ive owned a fair number of cars in all shapes and sizes. xr6 turbo, s15, rex s15 and now the s2k. not to mention i drive vws every weekend at work.

out of all these cars i like the s2k the most. its got the least amount of power, but engineering wise for a stock car its amazing. the handling and driving feel is awesome. i miss the turbo rush but all in all am very happy with the s2k.

Everyone says that when I say that LOL.

It just didn't feel...... responsive, lack of feedback.

it was a beautiful car though... Individual programme custom metallic purple color made it. I've never seen another one that colour again. I liked the interior, I love the sound, but it was just the lack of feedback (like "regular cars") I guess that turned me off it. For such a sporty car, it just didn't feel sporty. hard to explain.

Man I personally loved the e46 m3's. My friend had one and after a test drive, it was evident that bmw had cleverly planned and engineered a well crafted car that incorporates both worlds of luxury and sports. The suspensions were stiff yet firm, the engine had plenty of power and the vehicles body had the looks to match. Not too sure if you know this or not, but when you engage the vehicle into sports mode, the suspensions stiffen and the ecu increases fuel output to provide more fuel per given pedal position i.e. increase response. If I decide to change cars again, it will definitely be the m3. I'm reminded how comfortable bmws are everytime I drive my dads x5.

:O more comfortable then our bucket seats in s2000's ? :P

E46 M3 is nice and can now be had for under $50k. But its getting abit old now, esp with the e92's its sorta going for the 'I wanna be a baller, but i cant afford the current shape" image...

For me I found the S2000 by accident, I knew the car existed but without coming across it I didn't really know much about it. Only that it was a great looking 2 seater roadster.

I was looking at a sports car to buy a few yrs ago, I was mainly looking at the MX-5 sp turbo's, later models of the RX7's, 200sx's, wrx's, then stumbled across the S2000, after reading about its 50/50 weight,a screaming N/A 9000rpm engine, being very reliable, simple yet very technical car it had a more race appeal then the others and owning two Honda's prior I went out and bought one. After 2 years I'm still enjoying the car, I have come to change a few worn out items, since the car is 9yrs old now, ive had to replace the clutch master cylinder, rear axles (due to the dick head who owned it before me had slapped 19inch chromes wheels and lowered had caused allot of stress on the rear axles) I did think about selling it a few weeks ago, but I said to myself Ive spent some cash just trying to maintain the car I might aswell enjoy it, so looks ill be keeping the car, in its price range I cant find a better alternative that I like.
